Helping some of the members of the Landsmeet before going in is a big help and recruiting Anora is also a large bonus, you can lie to her if you want.
Winning the Landsmeet technically doesn't really matter because whether you win or lose you must fight Loghain and then once he is defeated you win the Landsmeet.
Loghain isn't really a tough boss to defeat and I have a video up of my warrior defeating him on Nightmare and I also have videos of me soloing some other bosses on Nightmare such as Gaxkang so check them out :)
