Dragon Age: The Veilguard is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The fourth major game in the Dragon Age franchise, The Veilguard will be the sequel to Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014). Set ten years after Inquisition, the game will feature new locations in the fictional world of Thedas for the player to explore.The game is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on October 31, 2024.

Probably more philosophical than most people would think. Taash is truly chaos. She's the kind of person that I could see say " We're going for it. Screw waiting" . Harding I can see is that friend that checks on you to make sure you're okay when things went sideways.Bellara I'm hoping we can have conversations that revolve around "squirrel" moments.

what they mean when they say that 99% of the time is that the companions are not skinny white women, they just wont say it out loud... all of the companions look great imo, i love them all and im personally having a really hard time deciding who to romance

I never found DA companions to be "classic hotties". They grow on me with their personality. Cassandra being an example. And even Dorian (he's too groomed for me, but hes a sweetheart). The veilguard companions are attractive enough. At least they look unique and recognisable.

I love Bioware romances but Bioware friendships are going to be the death of me. I think about my Inquisitor's friendships after Trespasser all the time and the Varric & Hawke dynamic will always be my favourite thing about DA2

Friendship is just as important as romance for sure! Even tho I was never a Solavellan girly, my Inky actually had a very close and good friendship with Solas and was heartbroken by what happened; In Veilguard I'll be romancing Taash first and I REALLY want a friendship with Lucanis so we can be hot messes together, I dunno, in my mind I can already picture sarcastic/purple Rook and Lucanis hitting it off right of the bet LMAO

Hehehehehe. Bestie Lucanis would be a RIOT! Bonus points if Spite comes out to play too 😁😁. And yes!! The friendship with Solas is beautiful too. I romanced Cullen, Josie, Dorian and Iron Bull, before I got around to romancing Solas and became stuck on him as my repeat romance. lol. But whilst I romanced everyone else, he was always a friend and like you, friend Solas also left me heartbroken 😭😭

I'm all for it lol And I get it about the repeat romance, I've seen his scenes and honestly I get the hype (plus how well developed the romance is considering we will have a Solavellan type of reunion on Veilguard)! I romanced Sera and Josie on inquisition since I usually do wlw romances, but I'll say after I play all the girl routes on this game I might do a mlm romance with Lucanis, I dunno what it is but that man left me intrigued xD I confess that after I watched your video a redownloaded DA2 just to see Varric and my purple Hawke's shenanigans, friendships in the franchise truly are the best 🥰🥰

Yes, the friendships are fantastic in the DA games. As far as I'm concerned, Dorian is still my bestie. :-) For The Veilguard, Taash is going to be my bestie. Hands-down. After hearing the V&V podcast - ahhh! So good. Her personality is epic (and right up my alley)!

I really love good friendship in games, more than romance. Romance dialogue often feels forced and makes me cringe. But friendship dialogues feel much more natural.

Friendships in games can make or break a game for me. especially when you have a group of people coming together for a common goal. It needs to be believable that they are friends, for me not to break immersion 😭😭

I think of my first warden, my baby surana, taken too young to remember life before the circle, how natural it was for Wynne to be a maternal figure who better understood their life experiences, counseling them and showing well meaning concern for the way their sweet head is turned by zevran's dashing assassin thing... I am not looking for a 1-1, I wouldn't want that, but I can see the potential for a mourn watch Rook with an Emmerich friendship and a Lucanis romance, not a retread so much as a different path in the same season, although that path is in a different place in a different stage of life and all

Awwww. Gods this is beautiful and I love that!! Wynne does give that maternal energy. I know some players found her too nosy, with her many questions and concerns, but I just thought of her as very motherly 🥹🥹. Gah!!! Playing as a young member of the Mournwatch, with Emmrich looking out for you would be so good!!!! Especially with a Lucanis romance??? 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾

I love this!! Wynne's dynamic with my Leliana-romancing Brosca was my favorite for similar reasons, because Brosca's mom was abusive and Wynne was her first positive maternal role model.

I think where DA games seem to really shine is the friendships. That's what I'm looking forward to the most, besides romance. I want to be best friends with Bellara! I'd listen to her talk about ancient Elvhenan for hours.

I think one of the best thing about companions in video games is the different kind of relationships you can have with them. From romantic to platonic or even being a rival to an enemy. It adds layers of complexity and nuance to their characters. And Bioware is wonderful at it. I also want to mention that while romances are great I feel like it can lead to some developers focusing on romances more than other aspects. Baldur's Gate 3 has some wonderfully designed and voiced companions but their friendships are clearly lacking. You don't really feel like friends with them because they don't act like friends. Their romances are really well developed by their friendships are lacking. Which makes me happy that Bioware says they are trying to make platonic relationships meaningful too. Because I do like my friendships in Dragon Age. Varric is just an amazing friend. But to the question of the video I definitely gell with Davrin so far. I like his vibe and ideas the most.

I would love a scene where Davrin goes in a self hating spiral just cuz he accidentally stepped on Assan's tail😂😂😂 I would also love a moment where Bellara and an elf Rook bond on their grief and anger over their stolen culture and the shock of discovering their people's lost/destroyed history. I always felt like my elvhen inky was experiencing those things alone, humansplaining Morrigan and self-hating Sera was NOT helping

Gods! Having Morrigan explain Elvhen history and culture to my Dalish elf made me roll my eyes SO hard!!!!! 😒😒. But omg!!! Poor Davrin stepping on Assan’s tail, would be sooo good. Cuz I’ve done that with my cat when I don’t notice that he’s practically in walking in between my legs, and that shit always has me spiraling so hard and trying to beg him to forgive me with kisses and treats 😭😭

I am still flip-flopping on all my decisions about my first Rook; their lineage, class, faction, who they will romance, who will be their best friend. I feel like no matter what I choose now, I'll change my mind again (about their lineage, class, and faction) while I'm creating them in character creator and while playing the game (who they will romance and be best friends with).

I'm pretty sure that Rook and his/her companions will be friends, depending if he/she will get on their good side by gaining their approval or completing their companion quest for character development.

True. But the devs did say there’s a path for rivalry, and permutations have been made to make that a possibility among companions, so there’s a chance with that too 😁😁

I never said it didn’t. BioWare has always done incredible work with their friendships in all their games. This video was just looking at the potential type of friends each of the companions could possibly be to Rook, and how their personalities would make that friendship feel unique in its own way
