Especially the origins stans who never understood what origins was setting up, and don't know the lore implications of trespasser and the elven background, or the descent. The major lore reveals were written during origins by lead writer David Gaider, and has been in a vault this whole time, with at least one more big node coming up potentially in a future game. You can tell people don't really know of the link between dwarves and magic, for example. They tout that as "against lore", despite the fact it isn't. Reading isn't enough, you also need media literacy.

yea, the first 5 tags on steam are developer chosen ones, the first tag is "LGBTQ+" and the fifth take is "Politics" given what we have seen in videos, they mean modern day politics and possibly in game as well, given how much they meshed the two together, so forgive people when they bring politics up with its so important to the devs, that its in their games tags twice.

On the other hand, the cringey preachy in your face dialogue, the cringey childish way you have to talk to your companions as if they are children, that ain't good writing dude, while even other DA game and mass effect, not to mention BG3 handled that way way better. But the nail in the coffin is the stupid energiser rabbit fortnitey combat where even mages jump around like stupid hyperactive monkey and then leap into the enemy face in order to "activate" an effect with their stupid dagger. Plus the uncontrollable companion that does very little damage on their own and are nothing more than skill mules. Add to that the stupid hub and spoke world design, boring linear mission style quest design, their disregard for prior lore and even character (what a dirty they did on isabella and to a less extend morrigan) .. this all adds up to a huge middle finger to us old timer fans

Maybe it is possbile to consider a group of fans: Those who loved Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II, and to some extent, Dragon Age: Inquisition, but now feel disillusioned by the completely different direction of Dragon Age 4. What I enjoyed was a dark, gritty stroy with a challenging combat system. Now, instead of a story that captures a world on the brink of destruction, I see a game filled with overly cheerful charaters, nothing can go wrong and a combat system that feels oversimplified compared to what it was. While I’ve already decided that I won’t be buying this new game, I still believe I can raise my voice. On its own, Dragon Age 4 might be a decent game, but as part of the Dragon Age franchise, it doesn't feel like a true continuation of the first three games. For long-time fans like me, who have been invested in the series since the beginning, this shift feels like a departure from what made Dragon Age unique. That’s something I can’t put aside, and it’s why, despite it maybe beeing a decent game, I am not happy with this new installment.

@@baderul1 its bioware and its dragon age, it was going to sell reguardless, lets give it a week for the day one sales to fizzle out and see if it has staying power as number 1, given that steamdeck is 4th place, and that launchdays peak is 2 hours away... I think its going to really show what staying power it has, the weekend may see a bit of a spike, but I doubt this is going to be around long, especially give that when you remove the politics from the game, its combat is so crappy reviewers were turning down difficulty not because its hard, but because the devs decided to make enemys bullet sponges and the mechanics for fighting were not fun.

I am disappointed I still play dragon age origins, massive mod recently came out. In my opinion it’s better than velguard. I rush through story and you can beat it under just shy under 11 hours. It’s hack n slash not rpg. Missing more than half of the dragon age guilds which I enjoyed for months. This vielguard just don’t fit any dragon age series or even oblivion. It’s new game very linear,less romance options but hey no nightmlther but atleast Morgan is here thought limited

Dude we and thousands of other channels get skipped over for codes all the time. Sub count, as even Gameranx says, doesn't guarantee anything. Codes being handed out usually move through several PR firms before they even give them to creators, and a lot of said firms are disorganized. Also fextralife having integrity is a wild comment. Inflated twitch views through botting on their site till they got called out, constantly data mining games and spoiling integral secrets ahead of a games launch so they can spam guides day 1, poorly maintaining their own wiki because again 90% of it is data mined then left up to the community to correct their errors. They get mad they don't get review codes not because they can't bring you a review, but because they lose the opportunity to data mine the game for their wiki. That's why whenever they don't get access to a game, they rarely follow through with additions to the wiki.

Actually I think the review itself is neutral and fine. And it is ok for him to like the game. Sorry the energiser rabbit fps shooter fortnitey combat are still stupid looking to me, especially for mages who leap and dodges lije an hyoeractive drone and then jump into the enemy dace to stab them just so to "activate" an effect. Add to that the companion as nothing more than skill mule with truncated skill tree, the uninpiring skill tree, the stupid hub and spoke world design and stood linear mission styles quest design ... it just feels like a middle finger to old timer fans like me.
