Have you played mass effect? It seems very close to that in gameplay. As a Mass Effect fan I am exited about it. And you can still pause your actions so you can make an informed decision.

I decided that I wanted to see higher level gameplay, with warrior, rogue, and mage Rook, and probably wait until I had seen some reviews before buying the game. I don't have any issues with the gameplay changes, I rarely used the tactical camera or controlled the companions in previous DA games, and the combat and ability wheel reminds me a lot of Mass Effect which I really like. The art style I like, mostly. I'm not totally sold on the new look demons and darkspawn, but that won't spoil my enjoyment of the game if the gameplay and story are good. The I saw the release trailer when it was released and I pre-ordered the game on Steam.

Hook line and sinker! Like you I am not bothered by losing the ability to switch. The only time I did it was because my main got knocked and when that happens (always a warrior tank) the fight is lost anyway. It had its faults but I am looking forward to play it! Just hope my old rig can grant me one more AAA game before I replace it at the end of the year.

Gamescom is probably triggering a ton of publishers to release something during that week regardless if they are attending or not.

The new Nvidia trailer showcased mage gameplay (level 1-prologue) and it looks spectacular! Also, personally I thought the old designs for darkspawn were comically generic, like where did all of that muscle come from? The type of darkspawn that come out of a brood mother are based on the mothers’ race and only ogres even somewhat look similar to their original race. No hate to the old designs, I just think the new ones actually capture what I think darkspawn represent.

They didn't redesign the necromancer, it was just bad rendering on the CGI trailer.

I don’t know man, to me there is a clear difference between the launch trailer and the current trailer. They toned down some of his facial features. He looked comical in the first trailer, now he’s definitely more in line with the others.

@@TheDutchTexanGames I'm sure it was the design of the reveal trailer, cuz they all looked different, like an exaggerated version of themselves. They cant redesign an entire character 2 months before the game is out. Especially when they are only polishing.

@@MalarikFilmswell, either way I am glad it is the way it is and the dude doesn't look like the goof he looked like during the reveal trailer. That entire thing was a travesty they only fixed when they showed the gameplay footage.

@@TheDutchTexanGames I don't think it's that serious. The tone was odd, but it was fun, and didn't have to directly mirror the entire tone of the game. It showed the companions and their vibes. The animation was pretty obviously rendered and I felt it was not what the game would be. Opinions are opinions tho an I understand how one can dislike it

You know what they say about opinions, everyone has them! If only people could be respectful about stating theirs and accept another person’s opinion with style and respect like you have demonstrated. Regardless of my opinion? The game is a day one buy for me. I was worried but the more I see the more I want to play it. Just hoping my 4790k won’t cause a no run condition! LOL

OK this is the FIRST vid I've seen that showed the required specs for PC. Thank you!! Nice to know I don't need to update my recently built PC. Totally agree about the character skins. There's still an uncanny difference between the human characters looking almost photorealistic in some shots, then in the next shot you see an elf or an 'old guy' looking like they stepped out of a WoW cinematic trailer. It's weird and jarring and I wish they'd picked a style and run with it. At is it, I can see it being REALLY distracting/immersion breaking. I love the combat animations, but I'm worried if they're still sticking to their "three action buttons for each character" statement. They can have all the flare and unique weapon abilities they like, but if we can't use them and they're all auto attack spells, it's kind of pointless. I really hope they were exaggerating with that, because that WILL be a deal breaker for me. Overall, this trailer DOES make me want to see the story if nothing else. The combat will decide whether I buy it on release week after a few reviews, or whether I wait 6 months for a steam sale and play it on god mode to skip the combat. We'll see I guess.

I recently found out it’s steam deck certified, so I think I can squeak by myself. We’ll find out! I just checked for the requirements and found them. It would be a bummer if you had to upgrade a recently built PC! It should do you at least a year or 3 without too much meddling. This game is definitely in the giving it a shot category. It looks like the story is there and that is the sole reason I play RPGs like Dragon Age. Thanks for your long comment, I appreciate it!

@@TheDutchTexanGames Really awesome to have the info! My graphics card is the RX 6800XT Red Devil, so it's not brand new but it's a good one until I can afford to swap it out. It looks like I'll be able to go to 'high' graphics if not ultra right off the bat, so I'm stoked 😀 Really enjoyed your vid, I'll keep an eye out for your future updates!

I’m especially looking forward to the gameplay, it feels like they always leaned toward ARPG since 2. Especially impressed by the animations in the gameplay reveal where rogues can attack backwards with a believable look-over-the-shoulder and stab movement. Not a lot of games try to go that far for fluid motion.

There was some major jumping around, that’s for sure. Really drove the point home that this isn’t your parents Dragon Age. I wasn’t a huge fan of that, but that is just a single nitpick just like not being fully on board with the art direction they took. Overall it looks like a must buy despite those things. Which is what I will be doing.
