Heard that again 2 days ago at the end of 3rd playthrough! Best final boss character in a video game ever (it's not a high bar I know), in a big part thanks to the legendary voice acting of Joseph Capp!

And without his Queen, the King is defenseless against the Rook's straightforward assault. Checkmate, Elgar'nan. This whole finale, with the final duel and the ending that follows, is sooo, incredibly perfect. Just like this music.

Small correction: Ghilan'nain was not his queen. They were just fellow Evanuris (with he calling her sister though ofc they're not "related" as such as Elgar'nan was a firstborn). she was lover of Andruil and was introduced to the Evanuris rank by her.

1:14 plays when you forcefully bind Solas to the Veil. One of the most peak moments for me in the game, and I'm sad that Veilguard decided to hide a bulk of the peak for Act 3. It plays when Solas is being dragged towards the Veil rift as he exclaims that we are mortals, and he is a god.
