Dragon Age Veilguard: 100+ HAIRSTYLES!

I was extremely fortunate to attend the Dragon Age Veilguard preview event earlier this month. I have a bunch of videos on the way but for now here is a full breakdown of the character creator, I’ll have more in depth videos coming in the next two weeks as well!

I'm new here, what are the roles of the Rook & Inquisitor in the previous games?

​@@AD-tr7sx Rook is brand new to Dragon Age and is your playable character in Veilguard. The Inquisitor on the other hand is your playable character and the leader of the Inquisition in DAI, which came out 10 years or so ago. Coincidentally, the timeskip between the two games is 10 years after Trespasser, DAI's final DLC which wraps everything up. I recommend either playing or reading up on Inquisition because it's insanely important when it comes to everything that may happen in Veilguard.

Only thing I wish there was, is a way to set casual hair aside from the hair you use when out adventuring. We've seen Neve have her hat on and then her hair down when dressed casually. I think that would have been good for us to be able to do too.

Bit of a spoiler ... there is a mirror in the Lighthouse we can use to change our appearance. So, if you want, you should be able to switch it up while hanging in the Lighthouse & switch back before heading out on a mission.

In inquisition I counted and there are about 15 variations of bald, buzzcut or very short cropped hair. A ridiculous thing. It is so beautiful seeing all these distinct hairstyles instead of 15 variations of bald or bald-ish.

Literally only two good hairstyles in Inquisition. I play on console, so I don't have the luxury of mods. My elven Inquisitor, the short ponytail with the hair hanging on either side. My human, the short hair that just touches the shoulders.

My theory is that at least half those bald hairstyles were actually a base for different haircuts that they never got to finish due to time constraints. Because honestly no way someone thought it was legitimate good idea to have 15 bald hairstyles lol

@@wendyanjos5056 I just played DA2 where Hawke changed to Leandra's hairstyle after All That Remains then after doing Legacy in Act 3 changed to a short haircut as kind of a coming to terms with it all. Also my Lavellan shaves her head after the Vallaslin scene with Solas, channeling "hair holds memory"

I told my partner that we weren’t getting DAI hairstyles redone and they laughed and celebrated. In all seriousness, the only kind of hair missing in my opinion is the spikey short hair (DAI) or something similar to default femHawke as gender neutral hair. Otherwise all is good to me, the curly hairs especially look gorgeous.

One thing Baldur's Gate 3 nails with hair is multi-tone hair. You have a base color, a highlight color, and aging. But if you're creative you can use the aging for extra color like say making someone whose hair is blonde but is darker at the roots. I made a character who looks like Gwen Poole with blonde hair and pink tips.

I agree that "Inquisition's hairstyles 10 years later" would have been a very good idea and I am sad to see they aren't there - tbh, as things currently stand, I have no idea how to recreate my Inquisitor then 😅especially since there is no option for long wavy hair - although it is so nice to have so much variety, actual long hair, and curls this time! - or to have varying degrees of greying hair. The latter really surprised me tbh 😥 Nonethless, I can't wait to spend time in the CC myself and figure out what my Rook (and Inky ❤) is going to look like ☺ (I am still so incredibly happy that the Inquisitor returns! 😭)

So many good hairstyles - and then the Qunari, who are essentially the same 50 shades of baldness as in Inquisition. Just a few long options. And even if in general a short hairstyle looks good on its own, it looks bad on a Qunari - because all you see is a huge forehead. Two hairstyles with bangs and neither of them look good. It seems that you will have to wait for mods to play as Qunari again.

As a black male who have been playing video games for a very long-time and who have been disappointed with the selection for blacks especially hair styles. That was the most diverse selection I have ever seen in a video game. For me it was either lately go with Cornrolls or whatever type of braids they decided on that looked like could be for either male or female but this I saw at least 5 different style I liked for a black male and for the first time ever in video games for me it will be hard picking my hairstyle.

This is fantastic!! I can't wait to get my hands on it. I really like the steps they've taken to improve this aspect of their games. I ligit don't want to complain about anything...but..my only nit pick is I wish there were some more longer single braided hair styles. I'm not a fan of the two braids and there seems to only be one long single braid? And a really long hair with waves would have been nice too. Otherwise 10 out of 10!! Thanks Kala!

They look FANTASTIC!! 😍😍😍 I'm only a little sad seeing the qunari versions, not only are there less options, but most of them are still quite short and I think only 2 had something like bangs covering them... I'd really hoped to be able to create a qunari girl with long beautiful hair with some braids or other details. Especially the kind where some of the hair falls over the shoulders or is framing the face, there's not really anything like that as far as I can see 😢So my first rook might have to be an elf or a dwarf after all, and I'll wait until modders can put some of those other gorgeous hairstyles on qunari 👀
