I am not butthurt, I am writing a comment to explain my unpopular opinion of why I'm fine with super Gohan. I personally don't get why people hate super Gohan so much. Yes power wise he is absolutely pathetic in Super but remember Piccolo himself said Gohan loathes conflict, I have the unpopular opinion that I'm happy for Gohan being able to do what he does in Super, he never wanted to fight, but when he did it was because he HAD to. I'm glad he achieved his dream of being a scholar, I know unpopular opinion. I think Gohan being like this is fine as he is, it's great to see some variety that his personality brings to Dragon Ball in general to help it feel more fleshed out like a story and not some Power Competition where all that matters is how a character is in battle.

In dbz he was being built up to be the superior fighter and the main protagonist of the franchise and I guess the way they put him to the side and brought back Goku probably put a bad taste in people's mouths considering how that impacted the story for the Buu arc. People want that badass Ssj2 Teen Gohan essence back within Gohan and it most likely will never happen again. If so, maybe for a brief episode or such.

I don't think super gohan would be as hated if he just stopped fighting completely and was just a background character

The thing is, having Zen-oh as the god and having a childish personality was the best choice they could have made. The Dragon Ball saga isn't meant to be very serious, sure it's serious at times, but as we've seen and through Toriyama, Dragon Ball is meant to be funny and Goofy while still being able to be serious. Therefore, if the ultimate god would be someone like Beerus, that would make everything sooo serious and Goku's personality would have to alter drastically. One could say that in that way, Zen-oh is there just to complement Goku's childish personality in super and whether that was the right or wrong decision is another matter.

Goku knew what he was doing when it came to fighting, the man is a genius when it comes to fighting, but when it comes to anything to do with social norms and such he fails at not cause he's stupid but cause he wasn't raised around that environment. He was a kid living in the forest with his grandfather, he never had to interact with anyone else. Goku in Super though is just a straight-up idiot, doing things that Z Goku would NEVER do. Goku cared about three things, fighting, food and his loved ones. He may not have been outwardly affectionate towards his son, but he does actually give a shit. Goku was NEVER that stupid, and Super made him worse to be honest.

The one time in super goku was actually serious was in the goku black arc, and towards the end of the tournament of power,but not the whole arc. In the goku black arc, when he first met him he was average super goku, then when he went to trunks’ timeline, he got 1000% more serious

G.T Breezy everyone was better than him, even ribrianne. I would put her in bad category, because trash tier should be Jiren alone. At least i hated Ribrianne, but i just simply didn’t felt shit when Jiren was on screen. It was like looking at a wall... which he was, for Goku, and that’s it. He got an unfinished Sasuke backstory and wants to be as strong as possible.., how fucking interesting. Every other villain was fucking strong as well, but just imagine Cell without him saying anything throughout the whole Cell saga... it would’ve been fucking bad, just like Jiren was. His whole purpose was to put up a good fight, which a lot of other people did as well, yet they managed to be at least somewhat interesting characters
