Hit was my day 1 main and I still feel like I have not figured out half his stuff. He is so unique and fun. Though when you said "You probably will see Hit the least online" that surprised me. I see quite a few Hit players. At least way more than Nappa, Videl, Gotenks and Zamasu.

One of the biggest things about Hit is that you cannot effectively reflect his normals. You mash that reflect and I mash Hit normal string of LLMM, and I'd keep coming at you.

Honestly this video was so useful for someone who absolutely never touched a fighting game in their life, and for some reason wanted to get into Hit for one of their first characters. Was really easy to understand how frame advantage worked with some google searches, and even if the info might be a bit outdated, such as the Vanish frame advantage now being 3 frames apparently, it still helped to understand how it works and how to properly use said data. Really cool video, thanks!

Beautiful my guy. The Hit-Monkey has come to stance you right into the grave! I notice something you didn't mention. Light stance light follow is -2 if they block it on the ground. If you time it right (doesn't work mashing) you can use his counter and catch even the fastest jabs in the game (UI Goku can do the same off his "lariat" with 6H) and once they respect that you can mash off the hit, or assist call during the counter... The mind games are OP. Good stuff, check out what I said about the counters off the -2 move. It's something these two characters can do no one else can, and it's not something I see people doing or talking about, but that I think is a BIG feather in thier cap.

Yea as a day one hit main this is mostly how I get my hits in with him. I either play mind games with people with light stance L on block or I catch them with the dp kick. I wish he got more damage of 5s or ex kick. Imagine if I could 5s or ex kick spark and tod with assist. I salivate at the thought.

Well I basically bring up that concept later on in the video on why all his 4 frames to active moves are important. I don't use that exact example but the concept is the same

@@jms974 I've come really close. I've got a 98% combo with him. It's not particularly practical most of the time, but the basic chunks that are practical still comes up between 45-63% depending on starter, more if I want to burn bat.

@@rooflemonger you definitely touched on the building blocks for that concept, and did very well. But it's just funny to do. Heck try this, as UI Goku corner yourself in practice tool then use 236 L then 5H. If you're timing is right you can do this indefinitely and "walk" the bot from corner to corner. Just set the bot to counter with L and guard all. You can do similar with hit by quickly canceling the hut from S into another light stance M or L

Nice! This is a good guide! My brother used to play DBFZ with me day 1 and Hit was his main. Since he stopped however, and considering Hit fell out of the meta eventually, I haven't been aware of the new things people discovered about him. I do think he's still a good character in the right hands. I really like his j.S counter for instance because of what he can do afterwards! The sneaky unblockables during a blockstring with his assists will be something I gotta look out for as well! :o

A cool thing about Hit that I miss on other chars when I play them is that Hit’s stand light has a good vertical hit box that will catch people jumping or off of a blocked superdash that allows you to punish some stuff other characters have to plan for

Hit is amazing. If nothing else he lacks online presence which limits educated reactions to his trickery. His c assist allows for easy hell gate combos with Janenba which let's me feel cool for a second before I lose. I'm not sure why but his command grab/unlockable catches people by surprise far beyond what it should. You said it best. He is alien. I wonder if his weird rythm contributes to the wins he gets me that I don't feel like I really earned. Trying to grasp an opponent's rythm seems important in a game this fast. Sorry for rambling. Thanks for the good work.

Biggest tip I can help you with off top of my head is you gotta reverse your normal block logic. Always standblock everything and only react to the low. That will help you out a lot in the end.

@@tiersexualcommunistpropaga2766 yeah but depends on the player you still got to worry about normal dragon rushes and in the right hands hit can lay endless pressure to the point you feel like you can’t do anything I play this character as strictly a counter to everything in the game I apply pressure when my opponents character is low but sit back and dominate neutral waiting them get impatient and mess up

Its unfortunate I never really got around to looking at hit before that was changed, I know most hit players say it was a massive blow to the character

That said, hit can still be a 2 touch character (or less) and makes the opponent look like a rag doll when he gets to do what he wants

Loved it and I'm glad theres finally a very detailed video dedicated to the main man Hit but I feel like you missed just two things. During the regular light auto combo if you do a Stance move during like the second hit you can cancel the auto combo out into that. That also works for assist change, if you call in your next character at the right time they come in from the side that Hit punches you into allowing for an easier entry and combo from your teammate. Other than that, this was great, thanks!

Videos like that are a bit harder now that so many people have their own takes on a character. A lot of what people are scared of against Broly is threats that necessarily aren't even there like constant grabs, when what you need to do is just wait and react to them or act when you anticipate its gonna happen.

I've been picking up Hit in ranked, and he is so much fun. Air S, his traveling normals, the parry, it's just so much fun to sock a rat from midscreen with Stand M. You are never safe when Hit is onscreen. Reflect is just about useless, because he hits another button and he's right back in your face.

I'm not sure if this is general knowledge on Hit but he's pretty good at resetting compared to others like 17. Most of the time, if the opponent doesn't know Hits gameplan, you can take advantage of that by canceling something like his autocombo into his stances or command grabs. This tends to stop working at higher levels since people know to look out for it though.

I've mained hit and he is my favorite. But he needs a better low. Just make it a tad faster to allow 5LL, 2M and better mixups maybe. A lot of his stuff is fake and thats one of the ways to make something real.

It's true that Hit's 5M and 5H have great range, but they aren't very useful to toss out in neutral because any ki blast or attack in his direction will hit him out of it and usually leads to a full punish

I skipped around the time stamps so I might of missed it but I wish you mentioned the risk of using Hits special moves, learning hit the hardest thing to figure out was that 99% of the time using a special move is not the correct option, like his 236s is not an approach despite looking like it, holding medium stance will have hits phase through you but you will get hit before your hit comes out so you need an assist still. Counter on the ground is far far worse than in the air an often the wrong option and in the air you can still lose to auto combo correction without double/triple counter.

That's the thing I know hit has a lot of reset potential, but resets are not really a thing in DBFZ when realistically you 2-3 touch characters in most situations, so why give up the opportunities you already have for the sure deal. There's no X factor in DBFZ like in other fighters that would make it more worth it like say a stun bar.

he is my main since day 1, sadly his ground counter is useless against the DLC characters autocombo, his low medium is too slow and his combo potential was ruined in season 3, i wish they would buff him, he is the hardest character to use at the very least make him OP.

Gogeta sadly just a case of why him over someone better, DBS Broly is solid though and works in many teams. Still not as strong as the top tier but at least he brings some unique stuff to the table
