I wish there was a Quest mode like the 2006 version so that beginners can have some fun solo while unlocking stuff. At least it gonna be a good warm up for PC players before VF6.

I pre-ordered the Tekken 8 Ultimate edition and its a regret that shall haunt me my whole life😢. Mictrotransactions after game release, shitty battle pass, stages not included with the ULTIMATE edition. Fool me once, thats it I'm out. For anyone reading this PLEASE wait for after release, those pre-order bonuses are not worth it. Even if you think you're supporting the game by getting the costliest edition, it really just gives more motivation to publishers to (to put it bluntly) scam you with shitty bonuses which will be useless into a week of a game's release. Those 3 days of early access aint worth, its gonna be patched anyway😭.

anyone know if the VF games in Yakuza have all the offline content ? like battling through the arcades ? or is it just an arcade version where you fight the CPU ?

I like the mistery fellas, competitors and completionists will buy all the dlc anyway so I see no point of revealing it beforehand. in a perfect world we would buy the ultimate edition and not know when characters are added or how to unlock them but of course this would require fighting games to have single player like melee/tenkaichi/soulcalibur2

This is so beautiful! I can't believe they did it! I wonder what they could possibly make easier, but so long as we keep the pace and movement and RPS I think we'll be good even with whatever cinematics and meter. I can't wait to see what kind of innovations VF brings to the table this time. But it's so great that they can use this as an excuse to have a world tour and then market the brand in multiple countries alongside making it an excuse to bring VF6. Without just having a beta constantly going all year, this is a great way for them to test rollback and the matchmaking. That didn't exactly look like Dural, so I feel like they were highlighting a training dummy. I'm curious what kind of training mode/tutorial improvements they've implemented. The cheesy English intro has me believing in RGG bringing their patented humor to the table into the future, and even better globalization of the game. It's a wonderful day to be a Virtua fan!

I prefer SF6's and Strive's (current) model, where they list all the characters at the start of the season. Publishers can still do a character reveal when they show off how they look in-game and how they play, and those things will still generate hype; the character doesn't need to be a secret for people to be interested.

Oh even on top of VF6 news? Heck yeah, this'll be great cause I don't have PlayStation this gen so could only play Ultimate Showdown when visiting a relative that did. Which wasn't hard to do, but now I can have it on hand whenever on Steam so that's great.

The ruling should apply to console sales as well and i like my season passes to be free and 100% tranparent on the dates of releases and whats in the pass.

Imagine if there was no season pass and additional characters coming later were just included in the price up front. Then you'd still have the timed release schedule that fuels the hype cycle whilst still being able to throw surprises out without people feeling like they're paying extra in advance for a mystery. If the only reason not to do this is because it would make less money..... The better the game is, the more people will buy it. Question mark season passes make the game worse.

So if it's on Steam with rollback does that mean I get to play people of various skill levels and not just the 8 people who haven't stopped playing since 2007 who just steamroll my ass?

Imho, Tekken 8 is a prime example why things need to change regardless of what Steam says... That damn game has 4 (attempted 5) layers of monetization (Full price/Annual season pass/Seasonal battle pass/MTX shop and they attempted to split DLC off from the season pass) So yeah, i welcome every wrench that's thrown into this corpo insanity.

Knowing who is in the season pass from the start can also be frustrating if don't like any of the characters. That's the case for me GGSTs and SF6s are not really interesting this year It is even worse if you only care about the last character and have to wait an entire year for them

Let s hope we don t get any other surprises in futur games like tekken shop, dlc stages and battle pass... Everything should be stated and well as we are not only fans but also customers and with tekken 8 we clearly got fooled with the extra content. Great move from steam

Never understood the whole drip feed of information. I guess the devs and publishers want it to be this method to get people to continually speculate on "who could it be?" but I swear, that talk lasts about a week, and then the talk of the town switches back to, "So hey, wtf are we gonna do against (actually released DLC character) and their (broken DLC move)?" I mean, no point in arguing over a point that nobody in the conversation actually has a definitive answer right? And then Evo, or the game awards come up, and about a week before the big reveal, you get leakers, so pretty much any hype that the DLC had going for it gets dampened by that. So that sucks.

I really hope the PS version gets a Rollback netcode update as well

Tekken PC player here, I've never had the chance of playing any VF, I'm buying this, I want to support VF and 3D fighters competition, this is a good opportunity to begin and learn, so I'll be ready for the new VF 6 (or just VF if it's a reboot).

I liked the Heihachi surprise. If you aren't a casul player you have to have all characters to practice against them anyway.
