I had never touched this game's story mode (and probably never would of) but I recently went through it all so I could complete the final arc and get the character "Android 21" She is seen as a pretty strong character amongst the competitive fanbase and I honestly was interested in playing her. I don't regret going through this mode for the character as she was a valuable addition to my team but man it felt LONG and PAINFUL. FighterZ is my favourite fighting game but I HATE the story mode. Im shocked you were able to go through it so many times. Bravo!

Arc Systems are the absolute kings of anime fighting games. Hell, they did such a damn good job with FighterZ, that they also got to make a Kill La Kill game and a One Punch Man game. And much like FighterZ, doing a damn good job at replicating each show’s art styles into game form.

This is the first time a 2D game felt like Dragonball to me. I know people liked the Budokai games, but to me they were always underwhelming. They never captured the spectacle. Something that the Tenkaichi games did a lot better, but while I'd call that a good Dragonball game, I would never call them good fighting games. To me, those two things were always different. Until Fighterz came along. This is easily the best Dragonball game, period. Shoutout to Attack of the Saiyans on DS though. That game was awesome too and an absolute loveletter to both Dragonball and Dragonball Z, and it deserved a sequel.

I returned to KZbin right after I graduated college in 2018. I was bored, my computer was already packed up, and I was looking for something to do. The story mode footage for this game was shared wholesale by... someone I don't know who anymore, so I just binged that during my last day in my apartment. That led me to the Game Theorists, which eventually led me to every single one of the 80 or so gaming KZbinrs I now watch, including The Completionist. So, watching this video is kind of a full-circle moment for me in a journey through over four years of content.

I did the Twenty Million Zenny trophy. At first I used the Tournament of Power method, but that quickly became too tedious. Rather than doing it every day like it was work, I decided on a słów path. Raid boss events occur once a month. By partcipating in 20 matches, you'll get 500 000 Zenny. Combine that with other online events, sporadic ToP farming and Story mode, it took me less than a year to get the trophy. Definetly long, but preferable to starting to hate the game.

Surprised you're talking about this but very impressed with the video overall. The looking back at the story made me wonder what could arc system works should stick with when it comes to plots in their fighting games moving forward: Either they go the massive movie route where you have to sit for like 2 hours like in guilty gear, So many cut scenes to which you only get like a handful of fights like in Blazblue, A nothing type of story mode like DNF duel, An arcade beat Em up type of plot that has cut scenes but you can still actually play it like what they did with grand blue fantasy versus or a massive huge grind fest of an original story but it's only interesting due to the character interactions like with DBFZ. I don't know but at least fighters is still a good solid fighting game even if it does have a lot of characters and the majority of characters we do have is your typical dragon ball Z how many versions of goku and vegeta do we have.

Super Dragon Ball Z and Budokai 3 are I think the best dbz games. SDBZ has a dedicated fan base who love the game and it is growing internationally! It's mechanics are very reminiscent of old school arcade fighters like tekkan. With its open stage style gameplay but with a twist! Budokai 3 is perfection. Enough said go play it, it needs to be seen to be believed! Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

23:36 Not true, actually. The game does keep track of your total aquired zeni; When in an online arena you can access your profile page which contains statistics for both your online and offline accomplishments, in one of these tabs the game displays both your current zeni and your lifetime zeni. To get the 'Set for Life' achivement you do not need to hold 20 million zeni concurrently, only reach a total of 20 million collected throughout your playtime.

There´s a good amount of things on this video that gave me physical pain. -From the shade to OG Dragon Ball - To misinformation from DBFZ development which was already announced as over from the actual director of the game having the only update for rollback netcode. - To straight up ignoring DNF Duel is NOT just Arc System Works but also work from Eighting, and Neople. Eighting being a developer of Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Marvel vs Capcom 3.

man, game development is truly hard these days. You can't simply create a great game anymore, it has to have mind-blowing graphics, it has to be flawless, and it must cater for the needs of different gamers, such as casuals, completionists and speed runners. Arc Systems probably never intended for their seemingly innocuous features to make completionists' lives a living hell, they just wanted to give more content for their players, without realizing its implications :D

Honestly FighterZ has a lot of great content that a lot of people don't touch. Personally I love the Tournaments of Power in the dojo, I find those much better practice than just going into training mode. I'm not really good at most fighting games, so I'm really proud of getting to SS3 Rank, I do much better at this game than any other fighting game I've played. I just love FighterZ because it's such an easy game to understand, like ArcSys did such a great job with easing new players into 3v3 Tag Team fighters and I can actually feel myself getting better with each match I play.

I would argue that Tenkaichi 2 and maybe even 3 are the best Dragon Ball games as they encompass the very essence of the series with it's beam/ball struggles, dash struggles, fast paced dashes, disappearing everywhere, busting and knocking people through buildings/objects, freedom of movement, in-game transformations including the giant forms, searching for the opponent. Dragon Ball Fighterz is one of my favorite video games of all time because it's still fun and chaotic but I feel like if I just watched an episode of DBZ and I had to choose one game that would let me relive those moments it would have to be Tenkaichi.

And someone who spent about 2,000 hours in fighter Z, I never thought you'd cover this. As a fighting game it is the Pinnacle of fighting games for me. It's very easy to pick up and play but extremely hard to master and play well. By that I mean you're either really good at the game or you're really moderate or bad. The skill ceiling in this game is incredibly hard and I understand why people get frustrated with it, especially when fighting people who play it on a tournament level. I got so good at the game that almost no one could beat me unless they were my skill or higher, meaning the game online became less fun for me because less people willing to play me. But as a single player game and just a fun fighting game it is definitely the best one, especially for 2D Fighters, where most of them will be very difficult to play AKA Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. It's the one modern game I want to get back into if I had the chance to get back into it. Great video.

My experience with fighter games (last 2 were this and granblue fantasy) is always: play the combo tutorials and fail miserably then uninstall and play ocasionally with friends

A lot of modern fighting games really don't seem developed with "completion" in mind as they add in all these extra titles and customization things. As much as I love Guilty Gear Strive, I HATE having to fish to get music and concept art, just hoping the RNG works out for me as it instead gives me avatar custom stuff I couldn't care less about. I didn't even realize FighterZ had a hard mode for EACH story either. Woof. Sometimes I wonder if we'll ever get a game that just breaks Jirard for good when it comes to completion. I can't help but think he'd enjoy more games that way.

I've had this game for like, two years now; haven't finished all the story modes and don't have all the DLC; because I frankly don't really care much, I already have the characters I like to play and friends to train with against characters I don't have so now I just kinda feel like finishing the story, even if it takes me back into the rabbithole of learning Base Vegeta, something that I can employ to bamboozle people every now and then also as a fun fact, prior to a certain DLC releasing, beating the Super Warrior story mode unlocked Blue Goku and Blue Vegeta
