I love any scene where they show off how strong Hercule actually is because he is the strongest human that doesn't use Ki. I'm pretty sure the other z-fighters can still beat him that are also humans, but Hercule is one of the bravest humans because he is willing to stand up to very scary foes if he desperately needs to.

No. One of the most brilliant things in Dragon Ball history is how the Dragon Balls became corrupted from being used one too many times. That was the most and only interesting thing they ever did in GT and is arguably the most creative thing they ever did on the show, easily followed up by the ending. It's a shame it was wasted on one of the worst anime series ever made, though, but still. Another incredible idea was the Androids/Cyborgs 16, 17, and 18 completely subverting expectations as villains by never harming people in the prime timeline. They SAID they would kill Goku, and they beat up the cast, but they never killed anyone, even though in Future Trunks's timeline, they destroyed a lot of the world so hard it turned it into The Terminator. Or how about Vegeta allowing Babidi to corrupt him willingly for the massive power boost, but actually retained his conscious mind, doing easily the smartest mindgame in the whole franchise, making you think he's finally gone evil again just to defeat Goku, while also counting on beating Babidi too and possibly rule the galaxy, only to realize it's too late to be evil again because he has a loving family and friends, because he's a far better person now, because he's so far above that sort of thing. His good conscience wins out and he completes THE most deep and best storytelling Dragon Ball could possibly ever conjure and nothing has come close to Vegeta's whole arc to date. And you think Buu eating Mr. Satan without absorbing him is "one of the most brilliant things in Dragonball history"? What dimension are you from where that is true?

Personally, I think Baby bragging about his (stolen) saiyan power is meant to play into the idea that Baby is becoming He Who Fights Monsters; so consumed by his vendetta against the saiyans that he ultimately becomes the very thing he's trying to get revenge for: an alien monster terrorizing another world for kicks.

One thing I always found interesting about Baby's powerset is that he's basically a Reverse-Buu. They're both amorphous entities that can use other people's powers, but Buu was created/summoned by magic and Baby is a science experiment. Buu absorbs people into his body, taking on their physical characteristics. Meanwhile Baby enters into other people's bodies and overwrites _their_ characteristics with his own.

You never hear a fusion character say “I’m running out of energy!” It’s always about time, meaning that fusion’s supposedly have infinite energy at the cost of a varying time limit. This explains why Gotenks can go SSJ3, because a time limit that simply defuses the two is far less demanding than working with limited energy reserves.

It might also just be that the reserves are so unbelievably immense that it's never really going to be an issue, plus as far as I remember the only time a fusion fought an opponent that it didn't completely shitstomp, it was SS1 Gotenks against Super Buu. Every other fusion has always been massively more powerful than the opponent it fought.

@@ssj4jason737 I'm pretty sure that's because they were cards given away with the movie itself, not cards they were actively selling at the time. By the time that movie might have been playing on live tv ( which I don't think ever actually happened ) those cards were still not released as public/legal cards to play and one of the cards related to the movie that was given out with ticket purchases was literally impossible to play because one of the requirements to summon it was Blue Eyes ultimate dragon, a card that didn't get released for 2 more years after those cards were given. But ya, that's why they could probably get away with it because it was both a Movie that adults would have to purchase a ticket to go see, and not a tv show.

6:24 He was Heihachi Mishima from Tekken 3 to Tekken 6. He ha this great for voice for big buff muscle dudes, which is why he worked so well for Fist of the North Star as well. 18:56 Yeah, I just figured the only way to bypass massive mana drain of SSJ3 is to have a dead body that doesn't tire or be a fusion of two. That's a way to use the form without it overstaying its welcome. I always appreciated it being the nuclear option, so you knew stuff was serious. And then Super happened and, of course, it had to bring in new forms and they just got no drawbacks like this (maybe they a line here or there, but it has no consequence on anything), so Vegeta didn't even bother ever achieving SSJ3.

The english dub just straight up used the post-Namek version of the credits. Had Goku going Super, Vegeta was in the group, showed super Trunks, it was a ridiculous spoiler... especially considering that version of the show didn't even make it to Super Saiyan and stopped in the middle of the Ginyu force. Even though the Japanese credits had a non-spoiler version of that group lineup for the first hundred episodes. They also mixed in a ton of footage from the movies and Nappa blowing up planes to be more action-ey I guess.

Super baby 2 is an ok looking form I can respect it's design. But I love his previous forms more especially Super baby 1 because that form I is a nice mix between vegeta and baby together. It's just a shame he didn't last long in that form.

I don;t dislike it at all. I jsut wish we got to see baby himself more, though seeing him possessing vegeta for most of the arc is kind of the point since he lacks power himself and jsut steals from others. He's the ultimate parasite. But yeah this helps him stand out as his own entity apart from vegeta and helps show how twisted he is in twisting vegeta's form to suit himself more. It really underlies what a self-centered monster he is.

I feel like it would have made WAY more sense for Baby and the other infected characters to try and infect Goku instead of just ganging up on him I mean, so far, Baby's proven he's not stupid. Even with Vegeta's body he would know better than to take his chances This is also where Buu would come in. Buu would sense Goku, Trunks and Pan are back and *immediately* bolt to Goku's home with Mr.Satan, ruining the trap. This would also reveal that Buu has essentially spent all this time being the last line of defense for all of Earth. 25:15 here is how I take it, you can see stuff starting to come out of Vegeta's body. I see the clothing at parts of Baby's body seeping through his body and skin as he takes more and more control. I don't even see this as a full form but rather an in between state between the first and final form

I think their hate for second form Vegeta-Baby is from how it wormed its way into fighting games like Budokai Tenkaichi. The show runners probably saw it as a transition to the final form, but having it be it's own thing in the games made first-time fans think there was more to it. Then they watch the show and see it only throw one punch lol. As for the final form's clothes, you could say Baby got enough energy to make his real body act as an exoskeleton and cover Vegeta. But is Baby's final form really disliked in the community? It's sleek and the golden shoulder vest makes it stand out. But I'll agree the earlier form he had while attacking Earth was cooler.

My headcanon is that ssj3 actually burns lifeforce and that it’s not a true transformation. Goku is just forcibly overclocking his body’s processes, which results in the hair growth. Goku was probably trying to develop a way to use Trunks’s grade 3 form without the drawbacks and accidentally ended up with something he was only able to use effectively while dead because he had essentially unlimited vitality. After 7 years dead he had unknowingly become complacent and so was surprised when the form failed against Kid Buu. The form was never as useful again as it was vs Fat Buu once he was alive again, and that would explain why he uses it so infrequently afterwards.

For the Baby transformations, my only explanation is that his transformations basically him assimilating Vegeta more and more. His form starts to look like him when he's outside of people, Vegeta's clothes start to match his own, the hair starts to look like that head tentacle Baby has and his eyes look fully cybernetic instead of just having lines across them. The more he powers up, the more his own qualities take over Vegeta to the point that he is literally just a meat suit for him to wear as a base. Kinda reminds me of putting on Power Armor in Fallout, there's a base below it but it does nothing except hold the stuff that's actually useful. (Also yes, Goku Black is just Baby Vegeta, that's always been clear as day to fans who like all fhe Dragon Ball media)

Best design easily for Baby Vegeta is the white haired, tank top style look, it's clear that GT was trying to recreate a lot of the Majin Vegeta aesthetic with the dark eyes and everything, but they should of fully committed to the look and of had that be the final excluding golden great ape for Vegeta.

Gotenks didn't have a problem with SS3 because Gotenks learned SS3 while alive and had enough time to get used to the form while in the Time Chamber. Goku explicitly hadn't mastered the transformation in Z, and his ability to transform immediately with no preamble in Super, and even do it while he's picking back up after the exhaustion of Ultra Instinct Omen, shows that there never actually was an inherent problem with the form as everyone assumes. Goku was just shit at using it at the time.

Imagine how awesome this arc could have been if the audience didn't know Baby had survived and escaped. Goku and pals get back to Earth and everyone's acting off. Not overtly "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", but still weird. They split off for their own reasons. Pan gets attacked by a crowd including Videl, and has to be bailed out by Buu because she doesn't want to kill anyone. Trunks gets attacked by Vegeta and then turned. Everyone converges on Goku as in canon, and here we get the reveal that Baby has taken over *everyone* . That would be the scariest thing they ever do in Dragon Ball.

Possible hot take: though the Baby Vegeta designs are not done as well as they could be; I much rather prefer them to the over used color pallete swaps that is the transformations that is in DBS but only for the simple fact that there was an attempt to make a unique design where as color pallete swaps are the bare minimum of coming up with a new design.

Another thing they could've done if they just *had* to have Babygeta's 2nd form: Have Goku go SS3 and start getting the upper hand in the fight. Babygeta decides to do his transformation, but Goku attacks him halfway through and _interrupts_ the transformation, leaving him stuck in that incomplete form. The attack uses up the last of Goku's stamina and he drops out of SS3, and a pissed-off Babygeta slaps him around a bit before completing the transformation sequence.

Missed opportunity when destroying Giru. That should have been what set Pan off and made her go Super Saiyan. It would have added weight to her bad treatment of Giru and their bedding friendship, and it would have worked as a parallel for when Gohan went SS2 for Andriod 16.

You know, the only thing I don't really like about Baby Vegeta's "Super Baby 2" form is the hairstyle. Would've prefered it retain the classic Vegeta look instead of that weird mohawk thing. Also, glad you guys noticed the similarities to Goku Black as well. With that in mind, it surprises me that the two never have any interactions or quotes in games that they're together in. And after seeing a couple of 'What If' fan animations, I want Xenoverse 2 or Heroes or whatever new thing that has both of them to feature a scenario where they team up to fight Goku and Vegeta in a tag team match, possibly even fuse as well.
