It’s kind of weird how this track and the episode title card track were omitted alongside the rest of Kenji Yamamoto’s score for the home release and current broadcast version of Dragon Ball Kai’s first 98 episodes. Dragon Soul is not a song that was written or arranged by Yamamoto and while this orchestra version probably was, there isn’t (to my knowledge) any trace of another artist’s song used to create the track outside of the song this version is based on. Yeah Break Care Break and Kokoro no Hane are also songs that were not by Yamamoto, and yet the next episode preview tracks that are based on those songs are still present in the current version of Dragon Ball Kai, alongside the eye-catch themes that are also from the orchestra version of Dragon Soul.

This sound is the essence of dragon Ball - wonder, grand adventure, fun, heart, action, comedy. If the main exposure is funimation dub DBZ I can understand why you would think this but that was heavily altered from the original source. Sumitomo finally got the hang of this style towards the end of super and for broly (particularly the last track from the film)
