The trailer is gameplay game developers will sometimes remove the hud for a trailer to look more visually appealing. This especially happens for fighting games I would recommend looking at tekken 8 and street fighter 6 for examples

The only person I’ve seen commenting on the teleportation was specifically refering to the teleporting counterattack - as in a BT/RB style vanish rather than the Xenoverse style “appear behind the opponent and get back hit in the nose for standing still” vanish. Though with how hype some people got, I wouldn’t be surprised if some poor soul got so lost in the sauce that even teleportation in a DB game bewildered them.

Raging blast had combat that was very slow compared to the almost lightning speed of tenkaichi 3. If sparking zero has fast combat that really makes you feel like a dbz fighter, then it might be going in the right direction

There's no way in hell they're removing Tag Team battles especially with the confirmation of multi-player. Whether multiple characters/players fighting at once or the tag feature entirely, it would be devolution to its game play.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero preserved Budokai Tenkaichi game because it follows the sequence of the Japanese game saga. BT1 = Sparking! BT2 = Sparking! Neo BT3 = Sparking! Meteor BT4 = Sparking! Zero So obviously it will contain new mechanics, game modes, many characters, etc. Important information is missing to be confirmed, for example split screen, offline multiplayer among other things. We have to wait for the Dragon Ball Games Batlle Hour event.

The game is called a sequel to BT3, so to speak. That's why I hope that the gameplay is really as fast and deep as BT3. Because that's a problem that the subsequent 3D arena fighting games had. No matter whether RB, XV or Kakarot as an example. all games were far too slow to play. The gameplay simply has to be right, otherwise it's not a BT.

the raging blast series was created by the same team that made the tenkaichi/sparking games (which im pretty sure you covered in an older video) so im pretty sure it was just a continuation of the ps2/wii series.

I'm looking forward to that game even though not much into fighting games nowadays. I would much prefer another action RPG game like DBZ Kakarot instead of it being another 3D arena fighter. I hope the story mode has at least 1 open world element that allows players to at least fly around the world map like in Budokai 3. Also, i really hope the game has stage transitions where players can knock their opponent to another stage like in Burst Limit. If they don't give us fans a release date/release window at the upcoming Dragonball Games Battle Hour event next month' then it would be nice if they at least give us fans a downloadable playable demo during that upcoming event.

Havent watched the video yet but off the first 30 seconds I dont understand how anybody could make a judgement that this game is anything like raging blast other than some mechanics inspired from the series, especially when we haven't even truly seen the game in action yet. So far off footage the game is definitely aiming to be more Budokai Tenkaichi with some of the best raging blast mechanics being input into the game.

There are tag teams in co-op mode in Dragon Ball Legends which when you use your super and ultimate both players see a full screen of the player using the attack. It's really cool.

I know exactly what you mean by the tag team element creating less of a spectacle. Raging Blast 2 had amazing Super and Ultimate Attacks, with most Ultimates turning into mini cutscenes. It's difficult to do high spectyacle ultimates and supers with other players in the game, and Tenkaichi Tag Team & Xenoverse made ultimates less dramatic, and in real-time. I personally want more spectacle, so I'd settle for the usual Tenkaichi style 1v1 but with the ability to play in teams 5v5 (with only 2 people on screen at a time)

I had a similar talk on my channel and we basically thought the raging blast series were always like a tenkaichi game and we like to think of the raging blast series as a budokai tenkaichi lite, although they played like a tenkaichi game, they had less characters, but looking at sparking zero, it gives us a mix of tenkaichi 3 and raging blast, refined graphics and art style and much more flashy than both the series, could potentially be a true successor in the series if most of the expectations are met

For everyone stating that this may not be gameplay remember that in Tenkiachi 3 you could re-watch old battles if you saved it similarly to currnt games like Brawlhalla and Fortnite. When re-watching your battles you had the option of changing the camera angles so this may be exactly how the game looks. However there is a posibility of some of the fights shown being scripted in a way similarly to how cutscenes show actions with the exact game graphics but you can't do anything. I'm just saying I that this is probably exactly what the game looks like but some of those moves and scenes are triggered by specials and/or following the story arc by getting the CPU opponent to a certain health.1:23

Me personally I play dbz game for the pvp and fights. I couldn’t care less about story. If someone is so concerned in story then they should just go read the manga. Of yeah, that’s right, dragon ball fans can’t read. I liked how in bt3 they had the tag team features in matches. Because it’s so cool. You need to change the play style in game quick to adapt to the opponent’s character. When I say tag team I mean one player at a time. And when one dies it substitutes to the next character

Ive never been a fan of the BT series. I never got the hype to be honest. However i hope it works out well for the people that are anticipating it. Moreover, if this succeeds I hope we get either a Budokai 4 or Burst Limit 2 cause Budokai 3 and Burst Limit had the best combat in my opinion

DragonBall Fighters doesn't even allow you to transform in-game with the exception of Frieza and Goku's lvl 3. Not to mention, Budokai 3s story mode is still well revered until today

@dymenasty3519 thing is everything you mentioned is also in Budokai 3, though with the exception of great apes. Budokai even took it a step further with customizing moves, too. You could equip the same moves multiple times, which changed the size of attacks as well as their hit boxes. I totally get why BT got a sequel, but people act like Budokai 3 didn't sell nearly as much as BT3, which just isn't true. Both Bt3 and Budokai 3 were the highest selling dbz games on PS2

It looks pretty but I hope the animation gets smoother. 0:33 in particular looks stiff, after the attack he just snaps into base position and he isn’t even floating at Goku’s position. Yeah we probably got a long way until it’s finished, but I’ve seen games forget this crucial step.

That's the issue the RB2 was facing. When you were too close to the ground, the game glued you to the ground automatically (no matter if you wanted it or not), which made you vulnerable and opponent could strike at that point. Smooth movement is the most important part here..

Well, you can't know exactly whether the gameplay will be true to the trailer or not, but let's see the history of Bandai Namco history of trailer showcase -> release and actual gameplay. So far, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, pretty much every game had a faithful delivery on the final product from trailer to release. No reason to not believe that this game will look as shown, ofc some minor tweaks might be made but this is pretty much it

I am really excited about it. I'm going to be playing it on... nothing! Sort of. I only have an original xbox one and not a series x/s which will be my preferred platform. Hopefully i can save up some money by the time this releases. I'm glad it's called dragon ball but i am a little concerned about it being called sparking. This implies to me that we are embracing the japanese-ness of the game which is a great and awesome. But i am concerned because alot of recent anime games barely have english dubs and when they do they rarely go back and fix the lip flaps. I doubt this will be much of a problem with how big dragon ball is but i am still concerned. I am excited to watch your retrospective when it comes out. And i am excited to see your xenoverse retrospective when we are done with kakarot. And i am excited to see your channel continue to grow. I haven't grown since middleschool (seriously, i'm 27 and still have good clothes that fit that my parents bought me in middle school) keep up the great work, your channel is truly a hidden gem, as the kids say.

I mean... duh. Raging Blast was literally developed by the same people (Spike) that made the three PS2 Sparking! games (the "Budokai Tenkaichi" games as FUNimation/Bandai of America so stupidly and erroneously named them). They were intended to be a continuation of the Sparking! games for the next generation... just that, they weren't anywhere near as good as NEO and METEOR (the first Sparking! was horrible though lol). Plus, they then made Ultimate Blast ("Ultimate Tenkaichi") the year after Raging Blast 2, which was... oof... not good. Like... at all lol Thing is... Spike Chunsoft (as it is now since Spike merged with Chunsoft in 2012) are developing Sparking! ZERO as well, and not only were Raging Blast 1 and 2 subpar and inferior to their predecessors (and again, the less said about Ultimate Blast, the better lol), but take a look at their more recent games in the same anime arena fighter style and things doooon't exactly look so good. Just within the last eight years, SC has developed J-Stars: Victory Vs, One Piece: Burning Blood, Jump Force, and One Punch Man: The Hero Nobody Knows. And all four were just absolute GARBAGE. Soooo, while all the other easily-hyped up Dragon Ball fans out there are losing their godforsaken minds in excitement over the glorious return of their favorite Dragon Ball character count simulator, I'm honestly very, VERY worried about what the gameplay quality will be. What with their recent history of fucking garbage, I don't trust Spike Chunsoft to be able to churn out a good game even one iota.

I'll explain it to you incase you don't know. In Japan the Tenkaichi games were called different; DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 1 in Japan was called DBZ Sparking!; DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 in Japan was called DBZ Sparking! Neo; DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 in Japan was called DBZ Sparking! Meteor; So for this game they decided to keep the japanese name for the whole world instead of being just Japan only.

Tenkaichi and raging blast are not the same sorry to break it to you. Yea raging blast borrows heavily from tenkaichi but it has enough of its own both pros and cons that make it its own thing especially in the battle mechanics. It’s just overall far more simplified than tenkaichi which I never liked.

Stop with this “they dumbed down goku” shit, it’s getting old and it’s been said a thousand fucking times. Why even comment it? Super Goku is very on character for the original manga. Not perfect, but no where near as bad as people make it out to be. Also, Goku never asks Vegeta specifically what a “kiss” was, he only ever ask what Trunks was doing with the sensu bean mouth-to-mouth thing. Vegeta is the one who brings up kissing.

I'm the only one who do not like the art style very much of the Sparking Zero? Is like a mix of Movie. The Dragon Ball: Super Hero one. It just look weird to me. Maybe is the camera angle, but Vegeta look a bit odd on those "cutscenes" The visuals,effects,scenery they all look good, but i just don't like the artstyle on how the character look
