When I was a baby I was dropped and hit my head on the ground. Ever since then I have had a weird obsession with power scaling. This video is the first part of my multi part series ranking all of the characters in the dragon ball franchise based on how powerful they are!

I grew up obsessively reading the series but haven't gone back and thought about these characters in a long, long time and it was a pleasant trip down memory lane. A very thorough and thoughtful list with your customary passion and attention to detail. See, this is why I always recommend your Kakuzu vs Pain debate to anyone I talk to about Naruto debates, for example, you do a lot of in-depth work and actually seem to enjoy it. For some strange reason, that combo is pretty rare. But it's appreciated.

Hey Weaboo!! Long time fan of DB and I just want to point out some upcoming characters whose strength are commonly misjudged by the community. 1. What Buu is the strongest (the manga points to super buu but the anime says kid buu. And 2. Adult Gohan (vs Dabura) is weaker than his ssj2 self that killed cell but should still be stronger than dabura and cell A great channel called LSM goes over these topics all the time. Love the videos and I’m excited to watch part 2!!

Great video/list and agree with almost every ranking. One thing I would disagree with is spopovich and Yamu's placement (and a as a result probably videl). I think simply being able to use generic ki blasts with relative ease probably puts them in the contender or champion tier

@@jonathansheehan6190 Videl can still be killed by bullets so I feel she should be below even beginning of series. At the very least beginning of series Goku. Yamu and Spopovich could be higher, but since Spopovich was holding back his power it’s hard to tell how strong he truly was. But remember, beginning of series Goku could shoot a kamehameha, so them being able to use a ki blast doesn’t really put them above him.

@@weeaboo-warrior Good points, your right they probably do scale pretty low then, my logic with the generic ki blasts is that we don't see characters until Tien capable of doing that casually, so I was putting that above early db Kamehameha use

@@jonathansheehan6190 technically in the manga Spopovich doesn't even use a ki blast, he uses a kia (ki shout) where a ki blast doesn't actually come out, it's more like a force push.

@@ultimate_capper3643 Z and OG DB have completley different lines of scaling with power levels but also its just .. inconsistent for narrative purposes and whatnot ig You could say Vegeta is just more proficent with using ki than the other people despite similar power levels but Goku with 32k couldnt one shot Vegeta despite Vegeta one shotting Cui with a 24k level despite cui being 18k all in all its super inconsistent This is especially when characters can just train and reach extremely high levels once they sense said levels just look at Piccolo that bum went from 3500 to 250k in 5 days of training while goku had a week of gravity training ontop of zenkais and only got to 180k yea LOL Powerlevels are bullshit

Considering how RR Roshi wouldn’t have had enough time to be significantly stronger than his 21st BT Self and Goku post Korin tower is magnitudes above his 21st BT self with them both being equal stat wise and yet Roshi thinks Goku is only “maybe” above him makes me think that he’s referring to his MAX Power that Goku scales to

Stamina wise Goku is better though. Max power Roshi gets one kamehameha before he's almost completely out of energy.

@@weeaboo-warrior Thing is in Dragon Ball attacks are a lot weaker when not hitting what they intended, for example take Roshi who when going Max Power in the 1st Arc destroys a mountain but was only focusing on the Fire, meanwhile in the next arc he destroys the moon because he focuses on it Also looking at chapter 96 Goku looked less suprised about the mountain being suprised and more about it almost hitting him I guess it could be argued in PL terms that post Korin Goku is above Max Power Roshi in strength but Roshi has the Max Power Kamehameha which is stronger than Goku’s normal Kamehameha so he can augment his PL higher

Piccolo Jr should be above Goku since his Massive Explosion attack had Goku shaking and stating he had never seen this much Ki which would put it above his Super Kamehameha, and if you say Goku blocking it is an anti feat then earlier in the Fight in the Beam Clash Piccolo Jr tanked the Super Kamehameha with no scratches and only losing some clothes

Old King Piccolo should be far above MAX Power Roshi from the 21st since Roshi believed him or Tien together could be enough which includes Tiens Kikoho and 22nd MAX Power Roshi which would be far above 21st MAX Power This is backed by how Goku, who at that point was above either of them, fired a Kamehameha at Old Piccolo and didn’t even scratch him despite being at less than 50% power

I have a few disagreements, mainly the human section, Hercule can crush large rocks into crumbs, Oolong has shapeshifter into big demons and robots, also don't agree with Pamputt being higher Spopovich and Yamu

When did Hercule crush large rocks into crumbs? Oolong's transformations help him a bit, but it's confirmed they don't actually make him physically stronger and it's mostly a bluff. I could definitely see Spopovich and Yamu being written to defeat Pamput, but Pamput smashing through that brick wall is more impressive than anything either of those two did.

For the most part it should be accurate tho contentious with some of the rankings post Roshi Kami also probably just got weaker overtime with his age with popo clearly getting stronger havent watched og db in forever tho so wont be too argumentitve about it but Tamborine only beat a exhausted goku hed probably have lost to that goku at FP that or the zenkai statements holds up which we know Kid Goku did get zenkais iirc Krillin confirmed it at one point
