“Even you, best buddy…” Lani went all out with the sacrifice scream, and that was something he always wanted to do as Vegeta for DBZA. And you gotta imagine how this felt for everyone that’s been following TFS for so long. It’s been over five years since they finished the Cell Saga, and even though they got burnt out making the series, the fact that we got this as something they did for TotallyNotMark’s review is more than we could every ask for from them, and we love them for it.

The amazing thing is that they can take jokes like the "Vegeta YES" recurring joke and still make the scene emotional. These bits were actually first released alongside a Dragon Ball Z review of the Buu Saga by Totally Not Mark so it didn't feel disjointed there, because those bits were sprinkled throughout Mark's rundown of the saga at the points that they're relevant.

I like how everyone is panicking like "guys dont watch the end yet!!" even though you clearly mentioned you will wait 😂 Also I love seeing your dog! Very cute- It is pretty cool to see how with the Buu Bits, TFS kinda lays out a rough idea of what their Buu Saga take may have been like - thiugh I'm sure some things would be different if they planned it out long format style. In a way the Buu Bits remind me of their Season 1, but with the more elegant writing abilities they developed over the years. Also as a bit of trivia, Krillin's ex and daughter both being called "Marron" was a coincidence in real life. Marron the girlfriend was a Toei-created Filler character while Marron the daughter was created by Toriyama for the original manga- and they both happened to name them "Marron", cause it means "chestnut". (Krillin/Kuririn contains "kuri", the Japanese word for chestnut) Lastly, because it amused me but it understandably flew over your head: At 14:14 Babidi says "Towa is going to be REALLY pissed at me... Ah, who gives a shit, b*tch is barely canon." This is refering to Towa, a villain in the extended DragonBall video games multiverse, and also Dabura's sister :^p

The bit about Krillins daughter named Marron and Gohan being concerned was that Marron was the name of that girlfriend Krillin had that looked like Bulma. In the A tiger version she was a tax agent that was a good digger and that tricked Krillin into confessing life insurance fraud.

The funny thing about tipping in japan where DBZ was made, it doesn't exist like it does in America, hotels(not sure about hot spring inns) and taxis(expensive in japan) may add a gratuity to the bill. But it's very rare to find any mandatory tipping, in Japan good service is to be expected without a tip. And tipping the server can be seen as an insult.

Likely missed, when Dabura was being eaten Bobbidi mentions "Towa" and how she is barely canon anyway. This is a reference to a character Akira Toriyama designed who has yet to appear in the main series, she appears in things like Dragon Ball Online, Xenoverse 1 and 2, and Dragon Ball Heroes. She is Dabura's sister and the most reoccurring villain of the game spin offs.

Congratulations on 65k, you guys deserve it and more. I dont quite remember if I commented this here or not, but about Marron (Ex of Krillin) and Maron (Krillin's daughter). Basically, Krillin name comes from a pun and some mixed word. Kuririn, in japanese, has "Kuri" which is the name of Chestnuts, roasted, they look bald like him, and the other "rin" is from Shaorin/Shaolin, because Krillin is a shaolin monk (retired as of the Buu part of the story). Marron is the name of a french dish that uses chestnut. Marron is sweet, and Kuri (roasted chestnut) its savory. The Marron got very popular in japan. You can see here that its an easy pun to make, when you have the context. So, what most likely happened is that the anime time, who made the "Krillin's girlfriend" filler arc used the pun first, and Akira Toriyama, the author of the manga comic either forgot about it or didnt care and just went ahead with that pun as well for Krillin's daughter. I think I have heard that the kanji characters are different and that Marron the daughter has a sappling or fruit pun somewhere as well, but im not sure. Given the weird structure of Japanese having "words" as "characters" when they write gives a lot of leeway for double, triple and quadruple puns. For example, another pun comes from Saiyans, or Saiya-jin. "Saiya" comes from the Japanese word "Yasai" which means vegetable in japanese. Then you have Raditz/Radish, Kakarot/Carrot, Broly/Broccoli, Turles/Lettuce, and so on and so forth, with their King/Prince being Vegeta(ble) Frieza's forces are usually named after fruit, like Cui/Kiwi, Dodoria/Durian, Appule/Apple. The Special Ginyu force have dairy names, like Guldo/Yogurudo/Yoghurt, Jeice/Cheese, Burter/Butter, Recoome/Cream and Ginyu being the word for Milk in Japanese, and he is milk, captain of dairy products. And all saiyans, all frieza forces and the Ginyus work under the Kitchen appliance where you keep all these things, the Freezer and the Cooler.

I always love Goku’s excited ‘Oh no.’ when Vegeta becomes Majin XD Also I don’t know if you both heard all of it, but when Buu ate Dabura, Babidi mentioned Towa being pissed at him before saying she’s barely canon. Towa is Dabura’s sister but she only appears in some of the DBZ games so that’s what that meant. When you all do watch part 2, there are deleted and extra scenes as well so please don’t miss them ^^ And the whole Krillin’s daughter, Marron, having the same name as his ex. Krillin’s ex was only in the anime and she didn’t appear in the manga. So she’s not technically named after her since she didn’t exist in the manga.

I definately recommend watching Totallynotmarks review of the Buu Saga when youre done watching it all. Its definitely a grind you'll have to segment into several videos but its definitely a good in depth analysis of the material and what it means or represents and even fills in a few gaps between the teamfourstarbits they did for him with interesting characterization and analysis for the review parts to lead up to the usual up to par TFS segments. You definitely wouldnt be disappointed on his introspective of the material. He also has such a nice charmingly adorable Irish accent that conveniently makes his video essays hard to put down.

Even the creators for DBZA recommend finishing watching Z before watching their abridged series, as not only do their jokes hit harder with knowledge of the source material, they also state that their content is not meant to be a replacement for the original. So finish watching Buu Saga before you watch the rest of the Buu Bits.

Since you all enjoy DBZA so much, Final Fantasy Machineabridged is just as good. It's also by Team Four Star. Something else I would recommend is the series Clannad. It's mostly a slapstick comedy anime series. It's light-hearted for the most part, and it's exceptional. I would recommend the original Japanese voice acting over the English, though, due to a much better performance.

A fun little side thihng, notice Abridged skipped the other guys in Bobbidi's space ship. Yeah, everyone skips them, the videogames even skip those guys...honestly video games when doing the Buu saga tend to skip...most of the Buu Saga, almost immediately going to the end of it as I guess for games focused on fighting there isn't much else, but still the other characters from the tournament and ship could be used much like the games like to use random Frieza force soldiers, but I guess people just didn't care for them as much.
