Funny enough in the dragon ball videogames the ginyu force sometimes talks about how burter spends all night playing videogames. So now it's my head canon that when he says he's the fastest in the universe he's talking about speedruns.

fun fact the first mention of a super saiyan was actually in the first episodes of the saiyan saga, when nappa and vegeta are in some planet overhearing piccolo talk about the dragon balls, however this was mentioned in the original japanese dub

I agree, Krillin DOES catch A LOT of ass whoopin's. But Unlike most other's he has a vast depth of energy to draw on and backing him into a corner is usually not a good idea. Just look at what happened when a Saibaman killed Yamcha, he went OP for a moment and took out all the others, except that one that went for Gohan and got spanked by Piccolo. In terms of right now on Namek, I'd say they rank like this: #1 - Freiza #2 - Goku #3 - Gohan #4 - Piccolo #5 - Vegeta #6 - Krillin this would be just as Goku is arriving to confront Freiza; but by the time that it is about to explode things are very different #1 - Goku #2 - Freiza #3 - Vegeta #4 - Gohan #5 - Piccolo #6 - Krillin.

I never understood power level increase AUTOMATICALLY means improvement of speed. In any other shounen sure as hell not. Jeice has slightly higher power level than Burter as well and I think Burter is still implied to be faster, no?

I believe it was mentioned in one of the behind the scenes books that 'power level' was actually just irrelevant and was more a way of Freeza's army using it as a sort of rank/hierarchy. I believe it was supposed to be make sense after Goku lost his body, but that's just going off memory from years ago. That's one of the reasons it gets dropped as soon as Freeza leaves the series (although there was a brief come back of sorts in the Buu saga).

@@iainmcdonalds4018 That can't be it. The very meaning of the scouter is reading power level the warrior has (or wants to show). Including unknown non-artificial opponents. But I was talking in general. Always a smart guy who emphasizes speed can outclass at least briefly a stronger opponent, even if that one is a level higher. Only in Dragonball series that suddenly is out of the window, unless closely together (like Burter: 50.000 & Jeice: 52.000)
