The "Why didn't you....DODGE!" part was a joke that TFS missed originally. They released the episode, and one of the OG comments was asking why they didn't make that joke. To their immediate and instant regret, and followed by making a note of it for when they did Kai.

​@@ajibuanawibowo7778 As noted in their recent creator's commentary on FourStarBento, after episode 29 released 11 years ago, one of the first comments asked why TFS did not use the "Why didn't you dodge!?" joke between Gohan and Piccolo (after Piccolo was shot by Freezer at the end of the episode). Taka, Lani, and Kaiser noted the joke down, so that they could use it for Kai Abridged, having regretted that they missed the easy joke.

Actually that Dragon Ball Super Abridged in the playlist was Team Four Star. They basically did these like single joke 5-15 second clips from Super while it was coming out. There’s like 6 of them and it’s mostly making light of even that were happening at the time in Super rather than a TFS take on the events and characters like with DBZA and Buu Bits.

Kai 3 is an interesting one. It's probably has the most deep cuts and self-referential humor. Jokes that include references to other TFS projects (Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, their DBcember ranking of best villains), Dragon Ball related news stories (the reveal that long time series composer Kenji Yamamoto plagiarized a TON of his work), or the writer's personal feelings about the original series (Gohan peaked at the Cell Saga).

10:15 yeah it was part of a filler episode that basically criticized some "trend" that was happening of moms getting physically abusive tutors for their kids, it forever cemented chichi as a bad mother to Gohan for me because even though she didn't knew when she got him when she kicks the guy out she did it literally for all of the wrong reasons, like he literally makes Gohan bleed near the eye in front of her and she says nothing but then he insults Goku and she's like "hey" then he insults Gohan to which she has no reaction but then he insults Goku again and she was like "I've had enough" then she proceeds to no apologize to Gohan for not believing him when he told her nor for hiring the tutor

Yes that tutor was in the first episode of the Garlic Jr. ark for like a minute or two. Finally during one of their DBCembers they did Top 20 Villains and Cell was below King Piccolo.

Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged is what started the abridged series. The early stages with the audio for voices is a little rough, but it progressively gets better. I watch it as much as I watch DBZA, so I would highly recommend it as a watch if its something y'all feel up too

This is 5 months old so ods are this has already been explained but still: The reason Yugi appears at the end of the first Kai is because Littlekuriboh who made Yugioh abridged (Which he started before TFS started DBZA) did the voice for not only Yugi/Yami in his show but also Freezer in DBZA. It is also the reason Freezer says "But seriously what is today?" in episode 2 since Its sort of a running gag in Yugioh Abridged that Yugi will ask what time it is. (A pun on the famous quote "It's time to duel.")

Yeah Hellsing Abridged is good but it wasn't a series they did next it was one that was going alongside DBZA, though at a much slower rate with how it was handled but it is done so you can watch it all. Also just to say there is two different "Cell vs" series technically. One is done by TFS and another by a different creator called DevilArtimis. DA's "Cell Vs" is even more comedic and chaotic so keep that in mind.

I agree there. I liked GT. Not the soundtrack mind you, but the plot wasn't that bad, the scenery was fucking awesome, and the characters were cool.

My only major issues with GT were the pacing, and the lack of anybody really developing as fighters. Aside from Super Saiyan 4, Goku doesn't really feel like he gets any stronger from the start to the finish. Which was a really jarring change from how the entire story up until that point focused so much about Goku always growing as a fighter. Everything else though was just fine. It had some interesting ideas for villains, I enjoyed how the opening arc had a bit more of an adventurous atmosphere to it, and the setup and pay-off for the Shadow Dragon Saga was pretty much the most perfect way the Dragon Ball story could've ended.
