@@berrystrawhat Well, GT ended in November of 1997, and Pokémon started April of 1997. He could have worked on the early parts of GT, since it started in February of 1996. But since anime usually get 4-6 months of preproduction, he would have needed to leave Studio Cockpit and join OLM by at least by January of 1997 or November 1996 at most.

@majinj8c You can say that again, his work on that Kid Buu vs Goku fight was so fucking amazing the promos for DBZ final episodes on Toonami kept showing that fight all the time. It would be a dream if he back for an DB Super movie or help start off a new DB series. If Toei let there animators work on only 10 or 15 episode season's like "One Punch Man" and "Attack on Titan" the quality issues of DB Super would be a thing of the past.

To be honest, his work in the Cell arc it was my most favourite in comparison to the Buu Saga, but his work on the pool saga is more polished in improved when you compare them side by side, especially in terms of shading and details.

Él no estuvo en DBGT verdad?, porque cuando ví GT me dí cuenta de inmediato que no habían escenas con ese nivel de calidad, y se hubiese notado la expresividad de sus personajes al dibujarlos, hay que decir que su trabajo de ese tiempo es muy parecido al de Naotoshi Shida de la actualidad, por la fluidez de la animación en especial, pero fué un gran talento, su forma de dibujar la boca a veces no me gustaba pero debo admitir que demostraba mucha emoción facial en el personaje.

Oh, some of my favorite scenes were animated by him. Especially that Goku VS Cell part. I don't remember seeing his name before, but I'm fairly new into the Sakuga / animators scene. Did he do stuff in Dragon Ball Super? I watch the Ajay Dragon Ball videos and don't remember seeing Masaaki Iwane yet. It's crazy how much Sakuga means to me and what great feelings it can produce in my brain and body. I have seen that Goku VS Cell part for the first time, when I was 13, which was 16 years ago. Still remember the feels it gave me and still remember it almost frame by frame :) Animators deserve so much respect.

Animation-wise, Iwane has the upper hand, and shows a distinctive timing. On the other hand, Masunaga's average key animation is not well known, because he's mostly recognized for his artwork and supervision.

Comparing Dragon Ball Z to Superman or any Marvel or DC Superheroes is much more fun then is much more slugs and comparing it to Eastern philosophy in my opinion to be honest, although I respect Eastern philosophy, it's just that I grew up with superhero action pack superpowered oriented materials. That's kind of one of the reasons why I love Dragon Ball Z so much.

His line work on character punches is on point along with his incredibly angular facial expressions. But, and I'd hate to be that guy. Parts of the characters are way to angular for my taste and his movements look really bizarre.
