When it aired in germany in 2001 it was such a special feeling to watch dbz because it was advertised as "not being something for kids" in the tv commercials and the only anime on the channel they aired at 7pm. All other animes, including the original db anime aired earlier from 1pm to 4pm. Watching it at that daytime felt so different than the other animes. It also didn't feel like just a simply continuation of the first dragonball anime because they completly changed the voice actors in the german dub.
