5. June 2012: Dragon Harald Fairhair is launched and named.
13. June 2012: First test-hoisting of the 300 square meter large sail.
After having been trapped inside a shipyard for more than two years, the large Viking ship is finally in its true element; the sea. Now the time has come to tame the Dragon.....

As a once wooden boat owner I am fascinated by the worlds different ethnic peoples on how they crafted their ships so many years ago and even today. Many similarities between various ethnic groups. Amazing engineering and skill that is necessary to build these magnificent ships! I'm honored to see this!

Back in the 1950s a Viking Ship rebuild came up the river Themes, U. K. The crew in old Viking dress, They said they had come too invaid Britain, So a groop ove University students set out in a rowboat with dust bin lids for shields and floor mopes for weapons, And threw tomatoes at them, Or to them, There was a stand off, And the Vikings said they would come back. There were offers from France to assist the Vikings. It was more fun than the football finals.

FYI: Viking ships spent a whole lot of time in rivers so each was built accordingly. A deeper draft for deeper rivers and a bit shallower draft for shallower rivers.

The Dane is correct, but Roskilde is not the only longship in Scandinavia built using old methods. There’s three or four in total. One of them is docked in Tønsberg in Norway, an original-tool replica of the Oseberg ship. I know because they tried to hire me back when I worked next city over.
