I agree! Clodagh's discussion with the half-orc Grannoc was probably the best roleplaying thus far in the series, and that sword throw is one of those D&D moments I'm sure I'll hold onto!

I'm glad to see another group who saw the Talos worshipers as not evil. I misread the guide book my first campaign, and wow did the whole thing take a HUGE turn south. lol. They even ended up with the Lighting Boar fighting on their side for the first few rounds against a modded Cryovain. (I used an armor like ability. They had to get the armor HP down before they could actually do damage to the dragon. They...were creative and would have killed Cryovain in two rounds even without the boar if I'd left him at non-modded stats.) I'm going to do a Learn To Play in the next few weeks, and your videos have been very helpful in getting the creative juices flowing. One of my original players will be in this game as well, so it'll be quite fun to see how they react to some of the changes that will be here vs their first play through of Icespire Peak.

Haha, wow yeah, making Gorthok an ally would be a little much! But as long as you make Cryovain more powerful, like it sounds like you did, it would make for a really epic battle of titans! Glad you've found some inspiration in these videos :)

Thank you! There was a ~20 minute break there for me to figure out how to continue after Clodagh came to an understanding with Grannoc. I'm glad it turned into a dramatic battle :)

What great role playing with Grannok. an interesting take on the morality conundrum too. I ended up presenting the Half-Orcs as a particular evil group due to the fact that I linked them to one of the PCs background. They were 'bad' half orcs who were survivors from a skirmish with one of our PCs, A half-orc Warlock; In order to deal with their fear of his new 'power', they had took up worship of Talos fairly recently in order to strengthen themselves and get some vengeance. Which has been really fun, since our PC half orc's patron is Zargon, so It's presented another morality conundrum haha but it's resulted in a great segue into The Lost City (B4).

Yeah, that was a little rough :/ Grace and I talked about it after the sesssion and decided it may have made sense for her to leave the party anyway. She's written to reaaally not like orcs, so unless we played out some kind of character development for her, Inverna may not have gone along with the alliance.

I totally skipped the Woodland Manse from DoIP. What I did instead was form a massive army with the orcs at the Shrine of Savras and the Woodland Manse for a siege at hunter's lodge and made the lodge a keep in the forest. I called it the Siege of Neverwinter Wood.

Sadly this is where my nieces lost interest in playing. But it was more that they couldn't find any friends to play with them and unfortunately I wasn't available to DM for them on the weekends
