@@rvfiasco exactly right. Fun fact I played 80 percent of the game with combat speed set to fast. Didnt realise I could be on ultra fast all this time lol. In all honesty growing up playing FF7 through 9 and legend of dragoon it felt fast to me anyway 😅 Animations are great too. It WOULD be a bit too slow for my liking if I was stuck at the base speed for combat though

I've been playing through DQ3 HD2D and the Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster. Those modern flourishes like auto-save and saving anywhere are a HUGE help with playing these classic, yet long, JRPGs as adults

sun and moon, omega ruby and alpha saphire, even lets go were well done. IDK why are they having so much trouble after that. they have good ideas, they just dont optimize their games, they are terrible programers and their games just look ugly, even when they are fun like legends, they feel like betas or proof of concept.

Absolutely gem of a game. The intelligent battle system really makes the constant battles easy to work through. Dracky mode for invicibility if you get too deep. Im about to push the last dungeon. Hopefully, my characters are strong enough to get it done.

Great upload. LOVED DQ3 remake. Took me about 70 hours including some post game stuff. The overworld was pretty much PERFECT. Its what I miss so much in modern jrpgs. Gimme back my top down style big overworld exploration. Love it.

I had a blast with this game, finished it in one go, that's rare. Made a normal party first, but started again and made a clown party. Then they reached lvl 20 and you can change the professions, did that, and in the end they where capable enough to finish the game. But could not play the new game + tower, i was done with it then. Good fun, worth the money.

I really enjoyed this video Clayton! This game is definitely on my list next to buy. I've only played the eighth game for the PS2 and loved that one. This does look like it truly pays homage to the original. Just seeing the footage of this game has me amazed with its art direction that I find so alluring. I am so about the second and first game remastered versions after seeing this. It's funny how they are being released in reverse.

Phenomenal game. Absolutely amazing 9/10 for me. I want them to drop the FPV in these games but other than that this game is a modern day classic. I rank it 3rd behind DQ11 & 8 but this one is amazing. Btw you definitely can get the merchant back after you carryon through the storyline. It’s kinda sad what happens to the merchant but it’s one other reason this game was certainly game of the year for me. 😊

DQ3 (starting with NES) has always been my favorite game - for all the reasons you spoke of. I was worried when starting this game when it first came out, but low and behold, it was a wonderful remake!

Dragon Quest 3 is actually the first game chronologically of dragon quest 1-3. So 3 is the best place to start story wise.

@@FryMcFly don’t wait. Dragon Quest is its own universe. Some of the stories relate to one another but all the games just happen in that universe. They always are sure to tell every story as a stand alone adventure, even if one of the characters were in a previous story or relate to a prior character. These games are literal masterpieces; even the old versions are incredible still right now and worth the premium. These games are not only amazing to experience, they give you so much game time for the amount of money you pay. It’s like $.60(cents) to $1.00 per hour of entertainment across all the versions.

I'm gonna say it. The Type A and Type B body types in place of gender bothered me more than I thought it would. Especially since the game has gender specific equipment and the NPCs would refer to the gender of the body type you picked anyways. Was completely unnecessary.
