Wonder how many people, outside of Japan, this is a beloved classic to? I already nearly an adult when this launched on NES (I’m old), and was a huge gamer. I don’t recall any of those old Dragon Warrior games being massively popular. Not sure there are a bunch of 40-50 year olds clamoring for this. Having said that, it has an interesting look. I’m sure Japan will love this.

It's my first time seeing the combat system and I don't like it. Why not have the player characters on screen? Some folks play JRPGs for the story and are not bothered by the combat. If the combat system doesn't look and feel right. I'm out!

My only problem with the visuals, one thing also Star Ocean HD whatever-its-name R shares, is what we can see on 00:56, the characters are too small and the scenary is out of proportion huge, and empty.

I bought the Star Ocean 2nd Remaster and FF Pixel Remaster I won't buy this-- not even on sale. Square can rely on its "modern audience." I didn't buy Eiyuden Chronicles because of the localization.

All of the modern DQ games have battle speed options! I’d be shocked if there wasn’t a way to speed through battles very quickly. I think this was just a poor showing of the game (I hope… coming from a big time dragon quest fan)
