Detailed description: 0:00 - Game Load 0:13 - Gatara Residences - Ancient Suburb Erik resumes in Gimli's house in the Gatara Residences. He is currently a Level 49 WAR/Warrior. He leaves the house and returns to Mount Gatara. 1:54 - Mount Gatara Erik drops by the Traveler's Bazaar at G-5/G-6 and adjusts the listing price of some items he has up for sale. He also puts a few more materials up for sale. He then stocks up on Treasure Eye Land Bells and a ko of Dolsoline at the Item Shop. Erik drops by the Tavern at G-5 and hires a new cast of support characters. He also rehires my other character, Davilas, a Level 111 SGE. At some point, I'm going to have to set Erik and Davilas as friends. Naturally, I have to hire a cute Pukulipo as the tank. Erik drops by the Post Office at F-6/F-7 to get his Bazaar sales. Plenty of folks must be buying right now, which is helpful. Erik returns to the Traveler's Bazaar at G-5/G-5 and puts a couple more materials up for sale. In the Plaza, Erik talks to Custom Shop Decory at D-5 (12:06). Decory's name is in yellow, so Sanvitalia rewards Erik with a Mini Medal for a current total of 17. He has found a total of 22 Mini Medals so far, of which he has spent 5. Decory's Customize Shop can be used to modify the form and coloring of Dolboards. Of course, the player needs their own Dolboard before they can use her services. At D-4, Erik talks to Menme just north of Custom Shop Decory (13:15). A long time ago, she was tucked away at D-1 in the northeast of town, but she has since been relocated here to be easy to find. Her name is in yellow, too, so Sanvitalia rewards Erik with a Mini Medal for a current total of 18. After telling Erik about ancient machinery and Dolboards, Menme issues Quest 199: "Ride On, Dolboard!". This is the first quest in the "Whispers of a Dolboard" quest line. The prerequisite is to have one's Mark of Maturity. Erik must now locate the Dolboard Remains. It used to be that the player had to seek the Dolboard Remains in the Urbea Underground Ruins, but these too are now easier to find. Erik must look for the Dolboard Remains in the Forest Ruins in Gatara Fields. Nice to see that the DQ10 team has simplified and adjusted their game a little bit. Many FF11 quests are still as opaque as ever. Erik drops by the church at C-7 and sets his Glen Castle Town Zoomstone's location to Mount Gatara - Entry. At H-6, Erik exits to Gatara Fields. 17:04 - Gatara Fields Erik heads east to the Forest Ruins. If your levels are lower, be careful of the Armoured Ants and Golems in the Forest Ruins area. At G-3, Erik examines the sparkly spot in the northeast of the Forest Ruins (18:48). After an event, he obtains the Dolboard Remains key item. He must take this to Menme in Mount Gatara. Erik Zooms to the Mount Gatara - Entry destination. 20:02 - Mount Gatara Erik takes the teleportal at H-5 to the Plaza (20:23). Erik talks to Menme at D-4 in the plaza (20:41). He hands over the Dolboard Remains for an event. Quest 199: "Ride On, Dolboard!" complete! Erik acquires the Dolboard key item and 3 ko of Dolsoline. He earns 6,240 EXP and 52 Fame Points. Menme has something interesting to say afterwards. Erik also turns in the Rental Dolboard. Erik talks to Custom Shop Decory at D-5 (23:26). The Dyeing feature customizes a Dolboard's color. There are two colors that can be changed. The Form Change feature changes the Dolboard's form. Most form changes require the player to find a Dolboard prism and turn it in to Decory. However, a player's Team can also set up a free Dolboard prism. Erik changes his Dolboard's form to the Team Dolboard prism. The player can also set their Dolboard options with Misc. > Settings > Gameplay > Dolboard Settings. Erik talks to Menme at D-4 again (25:38). He shows her the Dolboard for an event. Menme issues Quest 219: "Dolboard Tuning!". This is the second quest in the "Whispers of a Dolboard" quest line. The prerequisite is to reach Level 30 or above in any vocation. Erik needs to gather more information before Menme can tune the Dolboard. She gives him the Menme's Note key item. Erik must go to the Sky Gardens in Dolworm Crystal Palace and meet a researcher named Tudor. Dolworm Crystal Palace is in the Dolworm Kingdom, the Dwachakka capital far to the north. Time for another long trip. At H-6, Erik exits to Gatara Fields. 28:45 - Gatara Fields Erik follows the road east from Mount Gatara. In the northeast, he takes the exit at G-2 to Chaldea Mountain Road. 31:00 - Chaldea Mountain Road Erik will explore this area as he makes his way north. He equips the Subterranean Goggles so he can see the Muddy Fingers. Northeast of the Chaldea Cave, a red chest at F-6 contains a Tiny Tortoise Shell (33:38). Erik descends the rope at F-6 to the Chaldea Mountain Road Cave. 33:51 - Chaldea Mountain Road Cave Erik starts at G-5 in the east of the cave. Looks like there's more to this place than I was anticipating. Erik exits the cave at G-5. 34:20 - Chaldea Mountain Road Erik continues north through the Chaldea Mountain Road. Northeast of the second bridge, a red chest at E-3 contains 3 chunks of Iron Ore (37:49). Just west of the northern end of the third bridge, a red chest at E-2 contains 3 Single Phials (39:14). In the north, Erik follows the road at D-1 west to Goble Desert East. 40:08 - Goble Desert East Erik starts at G-4 in the east of this vast desert. The background music abruptly goes quiet here. Erik finds the Oasis Caravan at F-5. This is a small way station that can be reached with a Peddler wagon or a Bazoom Girl. From this caravan, Erik follows the main road south and west. There is a helpful Peddler at A-5 outside the Dolworm Kingdom gates. Erik enters the Dolworm Kingdom at A-5. 44:02 - Dolworm Kingdom Erik turns down the offer to set his resurrection spot to Dolworm Kingdom. The Dolworm Kingdom is the Dwachakka capital city. Erik starts at H-5 in the east of the Dolworm Kingdom. He takes the Master Machinery teleporter at G-5 to Dolworm Crystal Palace (44:31). This takes him to F-5 on the main level of the city. In the Church at F-4, Erik sets his Sea Melting Cave Zoomstone to the Dolworm Kingdom - Castle destination. He will be returning here a little later. Erik takes the gate at D-4/D-5 into Dolworm Crystal Palace. 45:50 - Dolworm Crystal Palace Erik starts at E-4 on floor 1F. This place is huge and potentially confusing. Fortunately, there are some shortcuts here. Erik examines the Master Machinery elevator at D-4 (46:07). He takes it up to floor 4F. In the north of 4F, Erik takes the stairs at E-3 to Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace. 46:35 - Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace Erik arrives at C-4 on the Stairs from floor 4F. Ascending the stairs at C-5/C-6, he arrives at B-3 in the Sky Gardens. At C-4/C-5 in the Sky Gardens, Erik talks to Tudor and shows him Menme's Note (46:54). Erik must now go to the Laboratory on floor 2F of the palace and look for a certain book. Erik goes down at C-2 to the Stairs. He continues down at C-4 to floor 4F of the palace. 48:05 - Dolworm Crystal Palace On floor 4F, Erik takes the Master Machinery elevator at D-4 down to floor 1F (48:23). On floor 1F, Erik takes the northern stairway at E-2 up to floor 2F (48:51). Erik enters the Laboratory at E-2 on floor 2F. Within, he examines the southernmost bookcase on the eastern side (49:08). He obtains the Gateria Technology Book key item. He must now deliver this ponderous tome to Menme in Mount Gatara. Erik goes back down the stairs at E-2 to floor 1F (50:05). He takes the Master Machinery elevator at D-4 back up to floor 4F (50:17). On 4F, Erik takes the stairs at E-3 to Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace. 50:37 - Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace Erik goes up the stairs at C-5/C-6 to the Sky Gardens. He chats briefly with Tudor at C-4/C-5 in the Sky Gardens. Afterwards, Erik Zooms to the Mount Gatara - Entry destination. 51:21 - Mount Gatara Erik takes the teleportal at H-5 to the Plaza (51:44). In the Plaza, Erik talks to Menme at D-4 and shows her the Gateria Technology Book (52:01). An event takes place. Erik must now wait for 3 minutes of real-world time before he talks to Menme again. While he is waiting, Erik drops by the Post Office at F-5/F-6 and gets his latest Bazaar sales. Since he has his permanent Dolboard, he also receives a letter from Shyla, who is with the race shop group Turbo Axel. She invites Erik to participate in the Dolboard Race in Glen East. Perhaps, Shyla-san. Erik also visits the Depository at D-3. He deposits some gold in the Gold Bank and some ore in Item Storage. Erik talks to Menme at D-4 (56:08). She has had time to figure out the book. Erik must now defeat a Hunter Mech to acquire the Energy Pot. Among other places, Hunter Mechs can appear in the Sea Melting Cave in the south of the Kyurarana Coast. Erik Zooms to the South Port Lendor destination. 57:21 - South Port Lendor Erik talks to Bazoom Girl Banry at E-4. He gets blown away to the Sea Melting Cave destination in Kyurarana Coast, Wena Islands. 57:46 - Kyurarana Coast Erik enters the Sea Melting Cave at D-6. 58:27 - Sea Melting Cave Erik starts at C-2 in the northwest of the cave. The enemies in this cave can be pretty dangerous, especially farther in. Erik begins encountering Hunter Mechs around C-6 in the south of the Sea Melting Cave (59:28). After a few battles, Erik acquires the Energy Pot key item (1:01:09). Back to Menme in Mount Gatara. Erik leaves the cave with an Evac-u-Bell. The description is continued in a reply.

He hands over the Energy Pot for an event. Quest 219: "Dolboard Tuning!" complete! An extra fuel tank is added to the Dolboard, so it can run for up to 60 minutes. Erik earns 6,240 EXP and 52 Fame Points. Each ko of Dolsoline will fill one Dolboard tank at a time. Erik talks to Menme at D-4 again (1:05:45). Menme issues Quest 446: "Dolboard Boost!". This is the third quest in the "Whispers of a Dolboard" quest line. The prerequisite is to reach Level 40 or above in any vocation. Decory speaks up during the event. Erik must talk to Chunig in the Sky Gardens of Dolworm Crystal Palace. Menme gives detailed directions to Dolworm Kingdom; I think she should have done this for the prior quest. After the scene, Erik Zooms to the Dolworm Kingdom - Castle destination. 1:08:57 - Dolworm Kingdom Erik enters Dolworm Crystal Palace at D-4/D-5. 1:09:23 - Dolworm Crystal Palace On floor 1F, Erik examines the Master Machinery elevator at D-4 (1:09:40). He takes it up to floor 4F. In the north of 4F, Erik takes the stairs at E-3 to Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace. 1:10:01 - Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace Erik arrives at C-4 on the Stairs from floor 4F. Ascending the stairs at C-5/C-6, he arrives at B-3 in the Sky Gardens. In the east of the Sky Gardens, Erik talks to Chunig at G-4/G-5 (1:10:26). An event takes place. Chunig tells Erik to acquire a Sovereign's Shell from a Scarab King. One of the spawn locations for Scarab Kings is Goble Desert East. Erik Zooms to the Dolworm Kingdom - Castle destination. 1:12:20 - Dolworm Kingdom Erik uses the Master Machinery teleporter at F-4/F-5 (1:12:43). This takes him to G-5 in the city entrance area in the east. At H-4/H-5, Erik exits to Goble Desert East. 1:12:57 - Goble Desert East Erik talks to Peddler Dogi at A-5/A-6 just outside the city (1:13:20). He gets transported to the Oasis Caravan in Goble Desert East. Erik arrives at the Oasis Caravan at E-5/F-5 (1:13:48). He rests at the caravan's Inn. Then, he leaves and heads north/northeast across the sands towards the Strange Sphere Area. At F-2 in the northeast, Erik goes down the ramp into the Minecart Cave level (1:15:38). He rides the minecart within. Erik arrives in another Minecart Cave at F-2 a short way to the southwest (1:15:53). Climbing the ramp ahead of him, he emerges on a plateau at E-2. On this plateau, Erik begins encountering Scarab Kings around E-2 (1:16:17). Fairly dangerous around Level 40. Look out for their tail bombs. Having one or two party members with Zing or Kazing will certainly help. Upon defeating the Scarab Kings, Erik obtains the Sovereign's Shell key item (1:17:58). This should go to Chunig in the Sky Gardens of Dolworm Crystal Palace. A Scarab King drops a white chest with a pair of Demonfell Chausses+2, leg armor for Level 93 (!) WAR, PLD, DMN, or GRD. It will be a while before Erik can use these, but he takes them anyway. Erik Zooms to the Dolworm Kingdom - Castle destination. 1:18:40 - Dolworm Kingdom Erik enters Dolworm Crystal Palace at D-4/D-5. 1:19:12 - Dolworm Crystal Palace On floor 1F, Erik examines the Master Machinery elevator at D-4 (1:19:29). He takes it up to floor 4F. In the north of 4F, Erik takes the stairs at E-3 to Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace. 1:19:50 - Upper Dolworm Crystal Palace Erik takes the stairs at C-5/C-6 to arrive at B-3 in the Sky Gardens. In the east of the Sky Gardens, Erik talks to Chunig at G-4/G-5 (1:20:14). An event takes place when he gives Chunig the Sovereign's Shell. Things don't quite go as Chunig hopes, so Chunig gives Erik the Turbo Parts key item. Erik must return to Menme in Mount Gatara. After the event, Chunig has story info. Erik Zooms to the Mount Gatara - Entry destination. 1:22:42 - Mount Gatara Erik takes the teleportal at H-5 to the Plaza (1:23:04). In the Plaza, Erik talks to Menme at D-4 and hands over the Turbo Parts (1:23:20). An event takes place. Now, Erik must go to the Daraz Quarry, accessible in the middle of the Chaldea Mountain Road area. Erik Zooms to South Port Lendor. 1:25:39 - South Port Lendor Erik talks to Bazoom Girl Banry at E-4. He gets swept away to the Chaldea Mountain Road - Quarry destination, Dwachakka. 1:26:02 - Chaldea Mountain Road Erik arrives in front of Sister Monte at E-4. Erik takes the exit at E-4 to the Daraz Quarry. 1:26:50 - Daraz Quarry A brief event takes place as Erik enters the Daraz Quarry. His next destination is the ruins of a workshop at the eastern edge of the Quarry. The monsters here are pretty hazardous, so I would recommend avoiding battles if your levels are low. Erik makes his way a little north and then east. In a depression at F-6/G-6, Erik examines a sparkly spot by a mound (1:30:08). An event takes place. Erik obtains the Junk Parts key item. He must deliver this to Menme in Mount Gatara. Erik Zooms to the Mount Gatara - Entry destination. 1:31:03 - Mount Gatara Erik takes the teleportal at H-5 to the Plaza (1:31:23). In the Plaza, Erik talks to Menme at D-4 and hands over the Junk Parts (1:31:40). An event takes place. Quest 446: "Dolboard Boost!" complete! The Charge Boost feature is added to Erik's Dolboard. Erik earns 31,400 EXP and 94 Fame Points. Erik reaches WAR Level 50. He earns 4 skill points for a total of 137. Erik earns the accolade "Battlefield Hero" for reaching the top of his class as a Warrior, i.e. reaching WAR Level 50. The Dolboard Charge Boost feature is available in outdoor field areas. It takes about 9 seconds to charge. To use it, press the Autorun button and then push forward on the L stick. The Dolboard will speed forward for about 6 seconds. During this time, it will be a harder to steer, but the charge boost can be canceled. There are additional Dolboard quests, but it will be a long time before the next one is available. Erik rests at the Inn at E-4 (1:35:16). He reaches Fame Level 11. At the Traveler's Bazaar at G-5/G-6, Erik lists some more materials for sale.
