The only way I can see it happening, is if Robin secretly has a copy of the last stone from her training with the Revo Army. Her silence could be due to her own personal goal of learning the history. So she could be secretly connecting the dots for later when she explains the history to the Strawhats. It's been obvious since the chapter was released that it was Monkey D. Dragon. Saul was recently brought back into the story, but that doesn't mean he has any information leading to, or having possession of a Poneglyph. - look at all 3 of the Road Poneglyphs that were in the story thus far. One was held by Big Mom, another one by Kaido, and one was on Zou. It's pretty telling that just based off Big Mom and Kaido both having one, that the last one would have to be in the hands of either the revolutionary army, or the marines. Saul, having been hinted at being alive, is not - nor was he ever a major character the likes of which rival the yonkou. - people assume that "the man marked by fire" means they're noticeable burned, not branded., Dragon is literally marked., and there is a difference between a "mark" and being flat out burned. If they were talking about anybody else, wouldn't they say "the man with the burned face"? - look at the conversation where the "man marked by flames" is mentioned for the first time. It's a conversation between Killer and Kidd. In which, killer says "we oughta get serious about *that* guy". Why would they be going after Saul? Why would they need to get serious about it? They could easily handle a character like Saul. On top of that, Kid replies: "but we've got no leads", doesn't that sound familiar? Nobody ever has leads on the revolutionary army, let alone it's head; Monkey D. Dragon., save for Blackbeard attacking Baltigo. - why would Blackbeard attack Baltigo, the former home of the revolutionary army? For Devil Fruits? His whole crew has devil-fruits already. Sure, there's a good chance we'll see him get a third devil fruit, but a more likely answer is that he wants a Poneglyph.

I think you're over thinking the whirlpool at the beginning of the series. Mainly because it's not in the live-action, which Oda over saw himself. Oda had them specifically rewrite scenes for the live-action, but not for that scene. If it was important foreshadowing, I don't believe Oda would've let them change it.
