it wasn't underrated before they release future updates or Dark Arisen cus those patches fixed the being being a walking sim, then it became a great game removing the problems w/ portcrystals/ferrystone (tools for teleportation).

Yessss! Thank you Capcom for not dooming this property to obscurity. The next one could be a major hit and bring it firmly in the mainstream, much as Monster Hunter World did for its franchise. A modern engine and graphics, a larger and more varied world to explore, more class specialisation/customisation and more build complexity, a greater focus on story and well-written characters and more opportunities for emergent storytelling. Do all that, and this will soar right to the top of the RPG hierarchy and displace the likes of the Witcher series, Dragon Age and the Elder Scrolls.

This game could be the only high fantasy game to be able to challenge Elden Ring, and I believe it will if the love and care needed is put into it. The core of Dragons Dogma was already brilliant, all it needs is a graphical upgrade, fine tuning to the systems in place like pawns and exploration mechanics, and a cleaner focus on storytelling, and the game will be remembered for aeons. Grigori is already one of the most memorable dragons in video game history, it really doesn't take much to make dragons Dogma 2 a fantastic game with what it already has in store.

​@@jackieestacado5651 riftstone placement was key during the first playthrough but when you get twice the amount after the hard mode soft reset you're basically just spot hopping the entire story. with proper planning this becomes a non-issue.

i honestly thought the simple class + advanced class system was incredibly complex and well scaled for the game, and did you HEAR him boast about how they could make the ai smarter but it was too complex for players to handle and it wouldnt feel like a game. i STILL talk about this game as having one of the best co op ai in video games and its 10 years old! the simplicity is what made this game great because all you had to do was add two simple skills to make an explosive combination, with magic actually combining in this game to create stronger versions of the spell. or a simple ring boosting your classes best skill. ahead of their time.

Eh, DDO didn’t give your character the ability to jump onto, or climb on Cyclopes and large enemies like Dragons Dogma, to my knowledge. Classes like the Rogue took a huge nerf in the damage department compared to DD without said feature.

DMC5 at least stayed fairly consistent with previous entries storywise, gameplay was fantastic , soundtrack gorgeous, and I've seen only positive comments about the game. Never played it personally but seen enough that I've gathered a decent knowledge of it. played DDDA to death. still replay it on occasion. If DD2 is just DDDA but more... Yeah i'm okay with that.complete version of an unfinished vision.

I really hope they can retain art style of the first game. The best parts about the first Dragon's Dogma are the visual designs of armor (especially), dungeons and monsters. The great amounts of form-fitting and functional looking armor, which took inspiration from real world history really make the game. In addition, perhaps an option to respec your character stats and skillpoints would be great.

Enter the rift - half the pawns dressed with a clown hat or joke DLC suit. Yeah but I know what you mean, the armors in the game (not the joke DLC armors) have a down-to-earth feel that I enjoy. I just wish there were a little more variety for the inner clothing rather than just a handful of pants and shirts to choose from.

I was 14 when I first played Dragons dogma, I put so many many hours into the game I fell in love with it. Then years later the remaster version came out and I had to platinum it. Now I'm 22 and I'm looking forward to the 2nd game. Hopefully I'm not dead by then to play a masterpiece.

I was always so intimidated by Dragon's Dogma, but once I began to fight through that and play with courage, it made for one of the most rewarding game experiences ever. I have become a huge RPG fan as a result, but not many have given me a similar feeling upon completion. So satisfying. The notion of having an updated experience with the same minds, the lore examined further... it makes me tear up and really hope for this to come to fruition as its creators intend. I am looking forward to this next masterpiece.

Listening to these 3 guys talk shop was rather entertaining for me. Somehow out of all the fantasy games available, including the works of Fromsoft, it was Dragons Dogma that, in my opinion, truly echoed the idea of a medieval fantasy in almost every aspect, especially visually. In a wierd way, the traditional designs choices for the monsters make the game seem very unique today.

I picked up the artbook yesterday before getting home and learning a sequel had been announced. Dragons Dogma managed to nail that "Model A" western fantasy feel better than most western games. Really hoping they can pull that off again.

I bought Dragon’s Dogma Day 1 on the 360. That 360 broke with that game stuck in the console. I bought a PS3 and Dragon’s Dogma was the first game I purchased for it. Then Dark Arisen came out, so I bought that. Then I got it on the PC, and finally bought it on the Switch, so I’ve bought it 5 seperate times, and leveled a character to 200 on 3 of the 5 copies. Dragon’s Dogma has been my most purchased single game. I’m so happy it’s gaining a larger audience and it’s finally getting a dedicated sequel! I’m now more excited for this than any other upcoming game.

Dragons Dogma is the best RPG game to ever come out, it is unlike any other rpg and actually feels like a table top rpg. The party system is amazing, the monsters and creatures feel like im playing DnD, the gameplay and action is surprisingly smooth and feels great because its not turn based and not like an mmo where its choppy with no weight to attacks. One big change that I really want from a Dragons Dogma 2 is for leveling up to allow players to select what skills grow so i can min max pure glass cannon builds or super tanks. Another smaller one is to have an option to keep a pawns inclinations set or when having them sit down to discuss strategy have an option for them to not learn from the player so i can keep being a kleptomaniac in the heat of battle while my pawns keep fighting. Honestly the best i can compare dragons dogma to is a Serious Game version of Konosuba Hideaki Itsuno made the fantastic dream of RPGs having real, fun combat a reality unlike games like TES where combat feels janky and its just a slog fest or Witcher series where the combat is more like dancing than fighting, Dragons Dogma is a true masterpiece I have only played DMC3 in that series and that was a fun game the only class i remember playing as was the gunslinger, i even had a special controller for the pc that had every button numbered that I could also use for RE4.

If they improve upon what the first game did and takes some notes and lessons from the strides FromSoftware has made in the Action RPG space, this might be one of the best games of the 2020s. (Not saying they should copy FromSoftware but there's definitely a lot to learn from their titles) Not to mention it being in the incredible RE Engine which has produced RE7, RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake, DMC5, Monster Hunter Rise, RE4 Remake AND Street Fighter 6! I'm so glad my friend introduced me to Dragon's Dogma a month ago I'm so excited to see the new entry.
