I honestly feel like Dragon’s Dream doesn’t deserve any of the hate it got. It’s a pretty unique and interesting stand, and I always loved how it just talks back its user, and is distinctly not just fighting for him, which is definitely nice considering how twisted he is. It honestly might be one of my favorite stands just because of how weirdly chill he is.

@@Tores444 the real reason it got hate was because of Part 7, in the early 2010s, people who started reading the manga after Jojo part 1 & 2, were told about how hype Part 7 was, so they basically skimmed through part 6, and just called it lame because they didn't read it, plus the translations were also bad, this was around the era of the DUWANG manga meme and stuff, so it was gonna be a recipe for disaster

@@darkmight3964 simplifying a lot: this stand when it is in its circle shows an angle to its user where it is in the lucky zone. He becomes untouchable. When he separates from the circle, he indicates the enemy's unlucky angle. Its user must therefore attack towards this angle.

I think that araki realized this weakness and for that reason only allowed only one person to fight it at a time. The whole fight I realized anasui wasn’t going to help but jolyne should have tried. And if jolyne were in danger anasui would have no choice but to help.

it would somehow work because the user would first find his safe spot, then after that select an opponents danger spot, the other enemies would be okay but they also wouldnt be able to hit him, so it would be a slow match(taking them down 1 by 1) or a tie if the enemies decide to protect each other from the attacks. The only way would be the mirror tactic that F.F. did or be fast enough to attack him before he finds hs safe spot.

There would still only be ONE safe direction, adding additional people would just change what the direction is. The downside is that Kenzo wouldn't be able to necessarily know who his attacks would harm next, so he'd really have to place his faith in the ability and not get distracted.

I honestly think it might be because there might be a different 3-D sequencer for the Stands - as opposed to Lang who isn't a Stand. (And those shots of him in CG were all whenever his bunched shoelaces were in movement, btw. I'm curious to see what the blu-rays change. That one feels like a similar situation to episode 18 of Golden Wind where they just did weird cutaways instead of CG)

yeah, but its hard too, because the stand wants to help out everyone even your opponent, it wants everyone to find their feng shui. So as the stand user you basically have to tell your opponent, not even your opponent everyone and anyone you see how your stand ability works. Then DD would be able to vibe with you

Yeah, this is definitely one of those stand's which is easier to conceptualize in animation. Dragon's Dream's main ability boils down to "bad vibes there, don't stand there," and "good vibes here, stay here." The fight's trippy as heck to piece together from manga panels, because the nature of the battle incentivizes you to fully visualize the arena, one where FF and Kenzou are constantly moving about like pieces on a game board. There's advantageous spots for them to be, there's disadvantageous spots for them to be. And then, like any good stand fight, Araki starts throwing in set pieces the fighters need to interact with. It wouldn't nearly be so bad if Dragon's Dream wasn't ALSO one of those set pieces, but one that quite literally teleports around, so you gotta keep track of it's position too, and now you start to understand what it feels like to be under the influence of Jailhouse Rock.....

Valentine used D4C to put W and D into different yet coexisting universes which is why each person gets a different witness instead of the same witnesses. Valentine indirectly caused Wekapipo and Diego to shoot Johnny while they were in pursuit of Valentine. Through all the confusion, Valentine could sneak over and truly bust a cap in Johnny’s face (no homo)

dragon's dream is actually pretty interesting, it doesn't give you an innate advantage but if you understand it and use it the right way it is fate manipulation level busted. And one of the stands that scales extremly with the user. Dragon's Dream is definitely better in the anime in the manga, one of the few times I could give a objective verdit either way. It's ability is less convoluted as it was overexplained, because in reality it's ability is just "points out spots of good luck and bad luck" and by following it you can avoid misfortune. Yo-Yo Ma was still pretty bad in the anime, but that had nothing to do with the anime, it was just a bad fight beforehand. Also I loved Planet Waves' fight, it was brutal.

I always felt this stand was more about the action rather than the usual "outsmart the opponent" nature of the other stands, which made it not translate to manga pages as well as had it been animated. Sure, JJBA was always action-packed but this stand's fight in particular was about very specific actions (to the point where the whole purpose of the stand is to tell people exactly where they should be for the fight) which is hard to translate into still-manga pages. Though the ending of the battle which DID involve a clever outsmarting was made all the more hilarious because of that, IMHO. After pages and pages of what was mostly a straight-up fight scene (the stand just providing advice from the sidelines), the fact that it ended because of a simple trick really came out of left field.

Since the Stand can give a divination reading and point to a lucky area that guarantees the user 100% safety based on the principals of Feng Shui, and the Flow of Calamity from WoU is supposed to be impending doom that's bound to hit you; if the user was attacked while in a lucky spot, would the wave miss or would it hit? Would lucky spots even be present when dealing with WoU? I'm not trying to say if this Stand can beat WoU in a fight (we all know that's a no), just asking if it's one of the few Stand's that can (potentially) dodge the powerful flow of calamity. Just a random thought tho.
