@dwyerd4532
@dwyerd4532 5 жыл бұрын
If your players don't go to that location, you bring that location to your players. Put it between where they are and where they want to go. Create a detour or something, or make them back track because of some random plot point you make up that makes them need to accomplish something before they show up to the place you weren't prepared for (while you start preparing the place they are headed in your mind😎)

Just found your channel now, and thank you so much for this. I have barely any money, and barely any professional materials for crafting terrain, and I still want to be able to play and have items and structures to interact with. Although using fairly readily materials and techniques, they still looked so good, and were functional. This actually helps so much because I do have or at least have access to all of these materials. You just got a new subscriber.

Hello from France ! I just discovered your channel right now, and i really wanted to leave a comment. The first video i watched was the Dwarven Stronghold. And then, this Dragon's Gorge now. Both video are really amazing. The way you explain things, during the process, the music in the background. I was like, "that's really great" or "I really like these videos". You do exactly the kind of video i enjoy so much, because of the creativity, yes, and you give all the steps to do it myself. I'm into the whole fantasy universe, like, i love the RPG stuff, like Warhammer, D&D, RPG about Lord of the Ring and so on and so on, and i do Fantasy audiobook in my youtube channel. But i'm like a newbie to paiting. I painted a Warhammer Kroots squad when i was like 14/15 years old. I'm now 29, turning 30 this year (august) and i'm seriously thinking about going to paiting and starting this new creating experience. I even think to rent a bigger flat. to have one more room dedicated to this new adventure of creating and paiting. And i really want to do all this too, because of the videos like yours and others people i saw. Because i love these universes, it's great relaxing activity. Netxt video i'm going to watch is How to Craft & Use Terrain to Build Encounters in D&D. I'm definitely watching more of you. And of course i subscribed. Thank you again for your time and your works.

Glad to see you using cardboard -its how we used to make our 'terrain' as kids (back in the 1960s!). Foam can be hard to get depending where you live as well as expensive. Cardboard seems to be everywhere and seeing this terrain piece and the excellent dwarven stronghold I think it ought to inspire many more terrain makers!

I hope you ceep building, not bigger but smarter! You prove that its not necesary to spend a lot of money on good looking scenery or to have the latest 3D-printing equipment to make these things. You simply come up with great simple triks to acheve your goals: like the dragon`s skeleton (Awesome!!! rly enjoied watching you figuring out how to exactly do things in the second youre building them) or your elementars. In a nutchell: Ceep it up! I`ll continue binchwatching the rest of your projects :D

This is //truly epic// brother! Thank you so much for the reminder that I don't need XPS foam to make nice landmasses. I will try this, tonight, but instead of using the bark flocking (as I don't have any right now) I will use sculptamold that I do have on hand to finish the edges. Fantastic work! Furthermore, the dragon skeleton is spot on! I've always wanted to add a detail like this but thought I could never pull it off. Your method looks very achievable and very convincing!

Very creative approach, like it. Dragon looks awesome and you did it with simple materials. Not sure about dill as a flock. I would suggest you to sprinkle isopropyl spirit (any spirit will do like denaturated alcohol or even pure ethyl spirit), then sprinkle diluted PVA glue. I do this for all of my flocking, it creates protective transparent surface and protects all the flocking from detaching, should work with dill, as there will be no contact with air, under the PVA coat.

The cork flocking for the rock surface looks awesome. Instead of using cardboard to model the rocks, you could use thin layers of styrofoam, yeah the bubbly one. It is a mess, but cheap as hell and after covering it with paper mache (toilet paper + wood glue) or/and your wood flocking it will be as durable as any other material.

This is amazing. When I clicked I expected to see another chubby middle age person with an entire workshop of expensive tools and matrials. But then the video starts and I saw a fit young guy around my age who made some awesome terrain with matrials I could easily get or buy. Thank you! So refreshing to see something like this. Something than anyone can do without needing to spend a ton of money. Most cheap build videos are like "Make terrain for $5!" Then they go on to use £100 worth of tools and paints in their dedicated workshop.

Fantastic and resourceconscient work! I´d like to suggest using a can of pva glue and a brush instead of a bottle for larger areas. You can also use PVA glue to shape ropes, the hang bridge ropes would curve down due to their own weight. A small nit pick ;) I cannot understand why anyone would give you a thumbs down for your video. Keep up the great work!
