It would be laughable how pointless this conflict was in retrospect if it wasnt so tragic. Complete waste of life on both sides. Depressing stuff.

On the contrary, the Troubles served certain purposes eg supporting the rise of the security state, think how cctv and anpr cameras were justified… Cui Bono always

I believe there wont be true peace in Ireland until those of us who lived through the troubles are in our graves. I truly wish it wasn't so. I think those scars run too deep on both sides of the so-called divide.

Bobby Sands, Brendan Hughes, Francis Hughes - all brave fighters, all in their graves and there is no peace in Ireland. Nothing has changed. The brave men and women from that era must never be forgotten. Don't be in a hurry to move on.

Well said yes the loss of life is tragic but there is going to be a reunited Ireland the English government does not Want the North of Ireland any more
