To answer everybody's question: in this scenario, the dragons fly between 70 and 135 m/s and the Boeing 747-400 flies 140 m/s. So the airplane is faster. But I can think of planes that can fly slower, and also planes that can fly a lot faster.

What formula did you use for this? I want to figure out the speed for dragons from httyd

We used formula (2) from advances.sciencemag.org/content/5/1/eaat4269 Which works out to be [speed = √(weight/wing area / 0.38)] for units of kg and meters^2
