Keep training. Once u understand the universal mechanics and can implement them in your game, you will increase your skill astronomically and will be able to play with any character at a above average/high level. If youre talking about Ki blast canceling, I'm personally not a fan, it ruins the aesthetic of Dragonball to me. I like to think with enough skill it can also be overcome. Keep practicing everyday and you WILL beat your friend one day.

its basic movement you learn from Elder Kai's training. If you havent done all of Elder Kai's training you NEED to do complete that to have a basic understanding of the game mechanics

Ik this video old but i cant get the stamina thing down u vanish w/out pressing x and press block inbetween... i use a sayian there moves a lil different but i cant figure it out 😒

Male Saiyans actually do not have any block cancels, so thats where your problem is. I strongly suggest having meteor strike or meteor blow as one of your special moves , you can step dash out of it after the first teleport, effectively doing the same thing for the cost of one Ki instead of stamina

They should just bring back the raging blast 2 combat system. Canceling your attack and creating your own combo was much more satisfying. This combat system was made for children.

The Inner Mind's Eye Very true. Tenkaichi will always go down as the best of dbz games. It’s combat system was also very similar to raging blast 2. Just don’t understand why they don’t “keep a good thing going”. Just gotta take what we can get on every new console that comes out.

The Inner Mind's Eye I feel you on that. I tried out xenoverse when it first came out and it just didn’t feel right to me. The dashes. Running. The whole fluidity of the game in general. So I haven’t touched a dbz game since raging blast 1&2. Just been waiting and hoping. So I can definitely relate. And then they came out with the new game kakarot. 🤦🏽‍♂️ don’t even get me started. True story I went to GameStop last week to pick up a few games and saw 3 people returning it for store credit.

Ok so I got it to work only during stamina break, so I literally just watched a video on YT that before the 1.18 maybe even before then that no stamina break was required for this to work. So I guess whoever was saying that it was OP got the attention of the devs and they changed it

They also nerfed Meteor strike, it has less of a window for the cancel now. It's more difficult to use other moves out of it but u can still step dash cancel it. Highly recommend for male saiyans since they don't have a block cancel and only 1 step cancel

When u are doing an ultimate, if you get hit with a charged heavy attack or reverse boost dash during its start up, you will end up with your stamina broken.

Yea.... its the meta. I prefer tenkaichi style combat myself so I don't use ki canceling and ki blast tag. I try to not use the easy step cancel much either, I much prefer being able to do long combos if I can

When I try to ki blast cancel after combo string my opponent jumps out the way how do I stop that and extend the combo to keep getting hits??? Using male Saiyan if that helps

I already knew how to do this, idk why I clicked on the vid....but if you just press x,y for Xbox or square, triangle for console....that’s not called step canceling that’s a infinite combo and with a male human that’s cheese

Yea is infinite combo but also cancel your animation and you side step or step in so is a step cancel also

Unfortunately, if your opponent has you trapped in a block string, there isnt much u can do. You can block the whole string Look for a gap in the attacks and use that to side step/attack on your own Vanish if u have stamina Perfect block then side step immediately afterwards. I recommend trying to perfect block as a successful perfect block with give u a short invincibility frame.... But with Xenoverse god awful hit detection... it literally all falls on luck

I havent tested it out with feint crash.. Also they changed meteor strike so there is a delay now. It's no longer a guaranteed stamina break but it is a great combo extender - which is what I use it for.

After certain parts of your melee string you can immediately step (up + x on ps or up + a on Xbox). An example is square -triangle or x - y on Xbox with male earthlings. I have race specific tutorials as well that show the specific ones per race

It was mentioned in XV1 tutorial. Most people DO NOT read or pay attention to detail and this has been around for 4 years. As mentioned in the video, you need to do a combo where your character normally vanishes and push block to cancel the follow up hit. This will reset your combo If you clarify what exactly you need help with I'll be more than happy to assist you.

@@pesoghoul I'm not 100% sure what you mean but some combos have an "auto dash" as part of the combo string. You can switch up your combo to not chase after them automatically by stopping the combo early, pushing block during the auto dash, or using a super move. I hope I helped you
