This is a really good video. I just went through this experience. I unknowingly bought a bootleg set from eBay, but it pretty much had all the issues you described. I got my refund, but it's so fuckin' pathetic that people try to profit off of fake shit. Can't wait to buy the real thing from Amazon.

Thanks for sharing this with everyone. It was someone like you who showed me what to look for and helped keep me from buying a bootleg Dragon Ball blue brick set. Sucks you got scammed but I was glad to read in the comments that you at least got your money back. I've found that one of the telltale signs of a bootleg seller is if they seem to have a large quantity of brand new copies of an out of print item, especially if it's going for almost the same as the original retail price. There's one seller on ebay now for this set that claims to have sold like 50 of them and it's the same price Amazon sold it for (if I remember correctly), but a closer look at the pics and I can see the darker yellow in the titles and darker colours in general and even though the only shot of the front is from an angle you can see the cardboard wraparound on the seasons doesn't quite line up properly when you look for it. I have to admit though, whoever made the one you got put a fair bit of effort into it for a bootleg. If the discs actually played properly I'm sure most people would never notice.

Damn u must have decent amount of money to buy it twice right after each other:P i usually can only buy 1 boxset amonth if im lucky :( - sux u got a fake one did u send it back ?i would dont pay the same amount for a fake! And report the guy he prob knew for sure trying to score money, hopefully u got it sorted out already

Cool video! It's nice that someone's warning others, fortunately I got mine from Amazon and it was a great deal for all the seasons. Did you manage to get your money back from eBay eventually?

Hi I bought full blu ray box set bootlegs off a reputable website. Saw your video and they're exact same packaging discrepancies and purple burnt blu rays. However I have a question. I bought real set off amazon, correct packaging and wrapped discs. But the quality isn't great for a remastered blu ray? Was expecting alot better, is this the normal perspective on this? Also I have no special features that I can find? Any ideas.

The bootleg u got is probably still 1080p so the quality might look identical to the real one,try and get ur money back tho dont let thiefs rip u off

Sometimes I buy bootleg (TV Shows/Movies) Blu-Rays off Ebay only just because Netflix won't make a physical copy and I'm not wanting to pay Netflix anymore lol. But yeah it does suck if you buy bootleg and it's not the original and you pay a lot, hope you got a refund. 👍🏻

I wish I held out for the 4;3 set they're selling now, it doesn't come boxed together but I prefer that format. Maybe someday I'll trade my blurays out and get money for them.

It is a fake, not official, usually inferior copy.

Thanks for the video just verified that mine were real. Problem with mine is that the Blu-ray cases are wrinkled. It’s kind of annoying but it is what it is I guess. Debating on returning them but I know all the discs work at least.

I just bought the dragon boxes and pre ordered the dbs steelbooks so I’ve been researching. After watching this, what I thought was my official release turns out to be a bootleg. Dbza is a more official release. Bummer. I’ve been watching the bootlegs and they’re pretty good fakes. Still gonna have to get around to replacing them though :/
