I've been enjoying Dragonbane since I picked it up. The art style is also wonderful and helps sell the setting.

They really did nail a classic style in the artwork, its minimal but at the same time impactful of the concept it represents in the book.

Very exciting to see Dragonbane featured! I missed the window to back it but my local game shop got it in and I recently picked up the new bestiary for it. Can't wait to take this one to one of my groups!
@gamemasters6 ай бұрын
do you think you would be the one running it?
@lycansniper22956 ай бұрын
@@gamemasters I'm definitely going to be the one running the game. I've become forever GM for my Ladies Night group and the lighter rules will be easier for everyone to pick up quickly for a one shot. I'll be bringing it to one of my other more open-minded groups too which might give me the chance to experience it as a player as well.

I had to pick this up. Unlike most gamers of my age, I didn't get my start with AD&D or B/X. I got my start with Basic Roleplaying through the Worlds of Wonder boxed set. Magic World and RuneQuest featured heavily in Dragonbane's origins, and you can definitely see BRP in its DNA. Reading the rules brought back so many memories of running Magic World (I used to mix in Future World, too, as my personal Appendix N featured a lot of pre-Tolkien, undefined genre writers) for my friends in the school library. Now I just need to bring it to the table. Maybe next year.

I would love to find a copy of Worlds of Wonder.. I've no clue what one would even go for today..
@matthewconstantine50156 ай бұрын
@@gamemasters I wish I still had my copy, but it disappeared into the ether a long, long time ago. I did pick up the new edition of BRP a couple months back, but haven't cracked into it yet.

Love it! Was waiting for you to cover this badass ttrpg! Brace yourself long comment😂 Mirth and Mayhem 🤘Dragonbane/ Drakebane( Drakar och Demonar/ Drakes and Demons ) Is top notch and very interesting. Very easy to homebrew in new playable species AND monsters, especially Dragons. Monsters stat blocks consist of brutal abilities. That and f.ex the combat might seem simple but its NOT! Tactful play is key! I play it alot Solo. Since bother/ are unreliable to get a group together where I live. In fact the Swedish Free League is very potent and care for not only group+GM play but also Solo and Co-op without GM. Also here in Norway we got talented folks that have created Dragepust or Dragon Breath thanks to a kickstarter a while ago! Check the Nordic TTRPG creators more. D&D, Pathfinder is stale and especially dont care/ hold candle to solo and co-op play Imo. Cheers!

Mmmmm! Dragonbane is beyond fun, super simple in rules but still provides that hardcore fantasy "fix".

@, there is a huge list I wanna go through after pinning down a few more pieces of this current project.

I hope I did not goof up how Drakar och Demoner is pronounced too badly
@tomkerruish29826 ай бұрын
Spell points, those three types of magic, piercing/slashing/bludgeoning damage... sounds reminiscent of RoleMaster.
@gamemasters6 ай бұрын
a little perhaps. I think rolemaster came out in the early 1980's, as did Drakar Och Demoner, however, I'd be hard pressed to see that rolemaster made it's way to sweden, but it's possible.

@gamemasters It's also possible such ideas were "in the air". Calculus was independently developed by Newton and Leibniz. Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Gray applied for telephone patents on the same day in 1876. It's weird how things work sometimes.
