steven adler got kicked out of G-N-R because he was to far into drugs and could'nt handle playing anymore(at least that's what axl rose said in an interview)but i think they should've stuck with him and supported him as a brother and help him through his dark times.

Such a sweetheart. Mindblowing talent. Cute. Intelligent. Creative and driven. Good to see he's clean these days, that's awesome. I never thought GnR was the same after he was gone. His touch on the drums has so much more dimension and his feel for it IS those songs, their very core. After the umm... 'Axl-ness" of Axl the other night with the HoF I think Steven is probably the only one who can get them all back together again to being friends. That's got to happen first, and it's only right.

@cool1000dude - this interview was done in 2004 right after he recovered from a stroke and that's why he has a speech problem, he actually took a hit off that weed pipe when I was'nt looking but I honestly think he was o.k; little did we all know that he stiil had some bad habits to kick and he eventually entered celebrity rehab to recover from his problems.

Why ? I'm an addict, I have 4 years 2 months sober. And it was self inflicted, you use long enough and if you suffer a stroke from using to much well that's the consequences you pay for using.

He got kicked out for DRUGS, which eventually everyone was doing. He's great. Part of History. I felt kind of bad for Steve becuase slash and Steve were good friends before Guns and slash turned his back. Axl tried to work with Steve as long as he could until it got to the point that Steve couldn't perform anymore and Axl was the last one to do anything and was pressured by the rest of the band about letting Steve go.

Yeah, they knew each other before. The problem with Steven was that he couldn`t handle the drugs as well as everyone else. When it came to recording Illusions, Steven would pass out while playing or lose tempo and it got to the point where he was becoming too much of a liability. I don`t think Slash wanted Steven to fall behind, but everyone was on smack so they usually couldn`t think farther than the album and themselves with their own problems. I think the end of GNR began with Steve gtn fired
