Dragonflight Ret Paladin - Tier Set bonus actually insane?

Ret Paladin tier set in Dragonflight might just be amazing, especially for cleave and aoe situations (Mythic+). Dragonflight Alpha/Beta now has Paladin tier sets open for testing and while the Dragonflight talent tree isn't where we'd like it, we're making due!

I want to add one more thing. People actually post pictures of the abilities that were working with Retribution Aura and benefited from it. That's why we got so many nerfs - these talents were working with the Aura. One of the reasons why Exorcism was not doing so great is that the talent is not working with Retribution Aura for some reason. So stay tuned. We have 7 weeks a 1 day from now until the release. They will for sure make more changes. I don't know how or why, but people on Discord said someone is getting information from the developer team unofficially. Here I want to point that I still disagree with the lack of communication and no official feedback to the Paladin community.

Paladin Greater Judgement - Judgement now causes the target to take 20% increased damage from your next Holy Power ability (was 25%). Seal of Crusader increases Holy Damage taken by 3/6% (was 5/10%). Divine Purpose increases the damage of your next holy damage spender by 15% (was 20%). Zealot’s Paragon extension reduced to 0.5 seconds (was 1 second). Retribution Templar’s Verdict damage reduced by 35%. Final Verdict damage reduced by 35% Zeal - Judgment now causes your next 2 auto attacks to occur 30% faster (was your next 3). Ashes to Dust now 20% chance to reset Wake of Ashes instead of Blade of Justice (was 35%). Execution Sentence deals 10% of damage done (was 20%). Templar’s Vindication changed to a 15% chance of a 10/20% Templar’s Verdict (was 15/30% chance of a 15/30% Templar’s Verdict). THE END

Probably needed TBH, It felt like some of this stuff was hitting too hard. But we will have to see. Those nerfs seem pretty heavy-handed.

At this point I’m 90% committed to ditching Ret for Mage. Ret has no mobility, sub-par defensives, and niche utility. They also removed/lowered a lot of the fun procs, and talent options we were hoping for, really messing with our traditional rotation. As a dps spec, if our damage is nuts we’ll still be brought to content. If it’s not, I can’t see many people wanting to play this spec as is, sadly.

The thing about mage rogue hunter warlock is they will always have a competitive spec. Paladins get the benefit of swapping to heal or tank, but I’d rather not do any of the above.

See, I was already thinking that even though this kit was going to feel a bit janky, it at least gave us a return to WoD Ret in as much as our AoE and ST coexisted in the same rotation without needing to choose one or the other and was, dare I say, excited! ...then the new tier set dropped.

I do have to say man. Seeing blizzard force a play style a large majority of the class players aren’t ok with isn’t giving me high hopes for this next expansions. I have this weird feeling this is going to be BFA 3.0 and if that’s the case I won’t even buy the expansion. This might be it for me.

There's a build I'm testing out that feels pretty good, but the way the damage is tuned right now (after today's nerfs) makes absolutely no sense. When our AOE is doing more than our single target spender, you know someone isn't paying attention. The reality is they probably just don't pay attention to what we think or want, not that they're actively going against it. The way Sanctification was tuned a couple weeks ago, it fed us a ton of holy power and it felt great. So I don't mind that, and I guess we will end up playing however they want us to play. It's just that we're getting the rug pulled out from under us over and over.

Even if consecration absolutely pumps it's still not a fun place style. Also considering I am predominantly a PVP player I don't see any way they can make it viable for arenas... sad sad day for ret pvp
