let's all thank god he got famous for making pop songs because now that puts him in prime position to put blues in the spotlight once again. too many have forgotten what raw emotion flows through those electrified blues scales. thanks, john, for helping us remember

I used to hate him. Now I love him. He is one of the best guitar players in the past 50 years EASY. He stands right up there with Clapton, Buddy, BB, SRV, Slash, Wylde, Johnson, etc. Why? Because he is incredibly expressive through his guitar. Most badass players blow him away technically, but they are forgotten quickly. ONE well placed expressive note, held out for 20 seconds can be more memorable than 10,000 notes in 5 minutes. John gives me goosebumps when he plays.

Listen and let the man play, he is a great blues player with some nice jazz overtones,,,and yes, I agree, one note played well can be just as powerful as 100 at the speed of sound,,,his pop stuff doesn't let him cut loose like his blues material,,,Keep playin' those blues john

Hmm. I think JM tries a little too much improvisation on his voice and guitar here. On the solo, it's tough... cause hes trying to do variations on what is already an amazing solo. Anyways... still a solid job. It is JM afterall.

I wonder why you bother coming around if you hate the guy so much or think he has no talent, etc..

I think most people watching this video think he is a great guitarist so no real need for the condescending explanation.

well theres probably tons of "bedroom guitarists" who are better than clapton and srv and all the other legends.
