The change in the pre-chorus from "On the wings of death by the hands of doom, by the darkest light from the darkest moon" to "On the wings of life, by the hands of hope, by the brightest light from the brightest sun", is amazing. I just don't have the words, but is the only way that they can add more emocion to an already very emocional pre-chorus. Is very good musical resource.

This brings back all the memories.🥲 Damn!🥲 My friends were never as passionate as I was though. Had they support me, or pushed as hard on music as I did, we could have been touring now. But they went for higher studies, which is good actually. One of them pursuing PhD and the other preparing for exams. And I'm here, still giving guitar lessons and pursuing Masters in Indian music (Hindustani) doing few gigs if some singers hires me. 🥲 And all those songs composed back then, about 50 songs just lying in my head. DF and Firehouse were our good to bands when ever we gathered. 😊🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿

When I discovered DragonForce with TTFAF, I wanted to listen to their discography and started with this album. My teenage brain exploded listening to these first tracks, and I was bonded with the band for the rest of my life. I keep DF deep in my heart! One thing I like to say is about their lyrics having something magical... The only thing people say is that it appears to be taken off some anime opening/ending... Yeah, they do (lol), but no one ever talks about their metaphors and the way they say things. I love it so much and never found any other band that did even similar. 😊

What do I think? Simply that this is infact the greatest song ever made. I know everyone thinks Through the Fire and Flames when people think of you guys, but this song specifically is a true masterpiece. There is absolutely nothing like it. Aside from the culture in our country leading to depreciate of quality music like this. Unfortunately as we all know, rap and hip hop and certain other music has taken over. But if that wasn't the case and if we could go back to when rock prevailed as the primary music our culture, this song would be hailed as greatest of all time. If this song was released in say, the 1980's your band would be in the same popularity realm as GNR, queen, the Beatles, bands that are in a league of their own that is impossible to recreate the magic. This song should be played in stadiums during sporting events. I love at least 80 percent of your music, new and old. But this song is one of the gems that escalate the definition of perfection. When you play you feel the energy like nothing else. My father, in his 80'$ before he past was a rock enthusiast, he loves one things more than his own kids and that a guitar solo, he lived and breathed guitar solos. When I shown him this song, he couldn't believe it, I've never seen him smile any harder and he referred to it as the greatest in the main song solo of all time. So guys, my dad was my best friend and everything to me. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for bonding me closer to him and having some of the most memorable times I've ever had. Your creativity truly made our life better and our connection stronger than ever. Thank you.

Marc is a great singer, i really like him, but Z.P. Theart's voice is the most iconic one for Dragonforce (in my opinion)
@Angel_Investor_Music2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Marc is a great singer in his own right, but his voice is more generic. ZP has a very unique voice that is both raspy and melodic, which gives him a better emotional range. It's a shame he hasn't done anything interesting after Dragonforce. His hard-rock band I Am I didn't really go anywhere after their mediocre first album. He also did an album called Valley of Tears with a band called Tank. It has a couple of decent songs, but overall I feel that ZP's talents are wasted in these relatively unknown bands when he made a name for himself in such a big band as Dragonforce. I really hope he will come back to the power metal scene at some point.
@GuitarHeroRocks992 жыл бұрын
But this 2010 remaster came out before ZP left the band, so it's still him singing this

Discovered this so long ago, as I was waiting impatiently for the official album of the group whose demo I enjoyed very much, called Dragonheart. I still remember it clearly. It happened on a Black Winter Night, when Revelations were shown to me in the Black Fire, as my Heart was beating like the one of the Dragon, and Evening Star was spewing Starfire. Yes, it happened in Babylon and I immediately became its Disciple, invoking Apocalyptic Evil.

This is the first time I am listening to this band. I’ve heard some of their songs in the past, like Through the Fire and Flames and Cry Thunder, but this time I decided to sit down and listen to DragonForce’s entire discography. I saw a few peoples comments on when they got into Dragonforce when they were in high school or middle school years ago so I thought on sharing my story. I discovered the band when I was maybe 9 when my brother played one of their songs in Guitar Hero. It wasn’t until towards the end of freshmen year of high school three years ago when I discovered this songs in a Yu-Gi-Oh! amv of Adrian vs Dark Jesse/Yubel and I instantly fell in love not only with the amv but also this song which is my favorite from the band and maybe my favorite song of all time. I would watch the amv every afternoon after school for the rest of freshman year. Sadly the amv got taken down on KZbin but I was able to find it on amv and I instantly downloaded it and it’s still sitting in my files today. However I didn’t listen to anymore of their songs at that time. It wasn’t until towards the end of my junior year last year and all the way through that summer and all of senior year when I started to listen to more of their songs and I think there was a total of maybe 15 songs that I kept listening to over and over again at that time. I also discovered their demo version of some of their songs which I really love as well. I still listen to those songs from time to time. This band is legendary and has made a lot of amazing songs. Seriously I don’t know who made and/or who put up the Yu-Gi-Oh! amv but who ever did thanks because if it wasn’t that one amv I probably wouldn’t have really got into this band and have it be one of escapes from reality.

I just love the parrelels of the two lyrics here. They remind me of the Northrend War from World of Warcraft. Don't care what anyone says, this song to me is just perfect for the the Northrend War. The clash between the undead and the living, evil and good, dark and light, death and life. 1:32 "On the wings of death, by the hands of doom. By the darkest light from the darkest moon." 2:58 "On the wings of life, by the hands of hope. By the brightest light from the brightest sun."
