12:17 Possibly Hugh was referring to Whore Princess Saera, she was one of the daughters of King Jaehearys, younger sister of Prince Baelon (Father of Viserys and Daemon), She was known for her free spirit and indecent customs like frequenting Pleasure Houses, until she was banished by King Jaehearys. Ps: She is not a bastard, and a legitimate daughter of King Jaehearys and Queen Alyssane

Yep. That's EXACTLY who his mother is. Princess Saera Targaryen, the only Targaryen Princess to be banished as blacksheep in family. Because she was a nympho on CRACK and couldn't stop shagging anything of the opposite gender swinging a cucumber and coconuts. King Jahaerhys I her father had to literally BANISH her from the family. So she happily took up residence in the local whor8e houses and became the most infamous wh8re there. Which btw, makes Hugh 1ST COUSIN to King Viscerys I and Prince Daemon. So Princess Saera is THE AUNT of these two. Which consequently means she's the GRAND AUNT of now Queen Rhaenrys. So Princess Saera's whorin*g was actually a breath of fresh air into the Targaryen genetics line. Given the contorted extent of family relationships from all the incest in the Targaryen family tree. LOL

Here is a summary of all the dragons: Vermithor, Silverwing and Seasmoke are the unclaimed dragons at Dragonstone and Seasmoke now has a new rider. Syrax is Rhaenera's Moondancer is Baela's and Vermax is Jaecarys dragon, which are also at Dragonstone. Caraxes is Daemons dragon, both are at Harrenhal. At Kings Landing are Aemonds Vhagar and Helaena's Dreamfyre. Aegons Sunfyre is wounded but recovering at Rooks Rest. In Oldtown, Daeron has the blue dragon Tessarion. Stormcloud and Tyraxes are with Rhaena and the kids at the Eyrie in the Vale (too young) There are also 3 wild dragons: Sheepstealer, Grey Ghost and the Cannibal. Both Grey Ghost and the Cannibal are on Dragonstone and Sheepstealer is the big wild dragon that is feeding on sheep in the Vale. Arrax and Meyles are the dead dragons at this point.

You forgot Shrykos and Morghul......The dragons of Aegon's kids in the dragonpit. Although only book readers will know.....since they haven't been shown or mentioned in the tv show.

Jace is thinking ahead, what happens when Rhaenyra is gone and those dragonseeds rebelled? Will everyone stand by the princeling with a young dragon or the ones with silver hair and BIGGER dragons than him? And when people find out about Hugh and Ulf's parentage people will def pick those two over Jace. Also, Jace is not being spoiled or an Elitist, he wanted Noble/Highborn riders cause their targ blood is so small that their chances of claiming the throne is weaker.

So glad you wrote this so I wouldn't have to. 😂😂😂 I've only seen one channel think about what Jace said logically and actually get it. It was a breath of fresh air 😂 Reactors always go for the low hanging fruit of "he spoiled" or "he must be sexist" every time he has an original thought.

This point doesn't make sense. If Jace's claim were to be invalidated because he is a bastard, then Daemon's sons with Rhaenyra (Aegon the Younger and Viserys) would be the next in line. No one would reject Jace because he is a bastard and then go support some other random bastard. They would support Aegon the Younger. And Ulf and Hugh could never be considered. Jace is, at least legally, a Velaryon. Ulf and Hugh are legally bastards with no noble name. Furthermore, both Hugh and Ulf are way behind Jace in the line of succession. Hugh's claim especially is unbelievably weak, even if he was a legitimate child, because he is behind Joffrey, Aegon the Younger, baby Viserys, and even behind Daemon, and behind Daemon's daughters. And he would also be behind Ulf, if Ulf was a legitimate child. There's a reason why in the book Jace doesn't have this concern at all, and it's because it doesn't actually make sense based on the political and legal dynamics of their world. Someone raised a Velaryon is not threatened by nameless lowborn bastards who would be behind him in the line of succession anyway. If anyone is a threat to Jace, legally speaking, it's Daemon's sons with rhaenyra. Unfortunately a lot of fans defending Jace's point don't seem to understand why his argument makes no sense. And I can't blame you, tbh, because obviously the show writers don't understand it either. If you look at the actual dynamics and laws of the world George wrote, Jace's fears become irrational. As I said, in the book this is not seen as an issue at all, for the many reasons I explained.

@@tuxedomask4masc From jace perspective everyone knows he is a bastard but the only reason they see him as Targaryen is because he was able to claim a dragon but if any bastard claims a dragon , jace won’t be as special as he thinks and they can challenge his succession in the future.

It’s very ironic that Hugh claimed Vermithor, considering his mother was never permitted to have a dragon by her father, and then her son claims her father’s dragon.

I'm glad ppl are catching this bit of subtlety. Rhaenyra sent him on that hood drive by to lure Vhagar right back to Dragonstone. Where she and the newly 3 minted Dragon Seeds (plus her and Jace's dragons) were calmly waiting. On what would've made for an interesting gang bang.... 🤣

Hughes mothers name was Sarah and Sarah was disowned by her father and he had sent her to old town because he thought that was good punishment. She escaped from old town went to lyes and became a worker in the pleasure house

There was a Targaryen woman named Saera who was the sister of Viserys and Daemon's father, and she did end up working and owning a pleasure house so I think that is who Hugh's mother was. The cool thing is that Saera's son Hugh then claiming Jaehearyses dragon(Jeahearys being Saera's father) is like karma, and if Ulf is telling true about his heritage he also claimed his grandmothers dragon. Maybe dragons prefer to have riders close in relation to their previous rider which would also explain Seasmoke choosing Addam, the half brother of Leanor

@@Flexorcist3030 But Saera is not the one who claimed the dragon. Hugh is. And Hugh is not legitimate. Anyway I don't know how people are still talking about legitimacy as if dragons care about marriage contracts. They don't. And what the other comment said is true. Quasimodo guy could very well be the grandson of Jaehaerys as well. He could be the son of Aemon, or Baelon, both of whom were legitimate sons of Jaehaerys.

@@gherve222 I think the thing that makes Hugh different is that he knows 100% that he is a Targaryen. He knew his mother personally and she reassured him that he was not different to his dragonlord cousins Viserys and Daemon. Where as Ulf and the other don't know for sure and might not be as confident that its even possible for them to claim a dragon

Not sure if it's been said, but Hugh's mom (the brothel Targ) was disowned by her father because of how promiscuous she was with other lords of the realm. So, she became a highly-desired woman at a brothel (I believe overseas) and still lived a life of relative privilege and luxury because of it.

Addam the one who claimed Seasmoke was not the son of Corlys. Addam was a bastard of Laenor. Which makes Addam as Corlys' Grandchild. Addam's mom was Corlys and Laenor's sidechick. There was a time when Laenor just reached puberty, Corlys brought his son to his sidechick(Addam and Alyn's mom) in order for his son Laenor to get experience. It created a seed which is Addam. Laenor felt disgusted with it so his preference was turned towards men. So Alyn is like Addam's half brother and uncle. That is the reason why Addam has a Targaryen blood which he acquired from his father Laenor who is the son of Rhaenys.

None of that happened, at least it hasn't been written by George R.R. Martin, who created all the characters. Interesting theory, though. Marilda of Hull (the mother of Addam and Alyn) did claim that Laenor fathered both of her sons, but it was widely believed that Corlys was their father.

@@gailf1617 Only the older one was fathered by Corlys which is Alyn. The same reason why Seasmoke was so enticed with Addam is because he resembles his Targaryen father.

Hugh’s mother is Saera Targaryen, she was one of King Jaehaerys daughters. Jaehaerys didn’t treat any of his daughters well, they all either died young or “disappeared”

Ulf claims to be the bastard son of Baelon, making him half-brother to Viserys and Daemon. Hugh is cousin to Viserys and Daemon. Both are grandchildren of King Jaeherys and Queen Alyssane, and have inherited their dragons, which with their ancestry, make them top tier threats to Jacerys considering most lords consider him a bastard, and they'd probably drop him once Rhaenyra dies, but with his dragon he might have kept his claim defended. Now with Targaryan bastards who possess larger dragons and stronger resemblences to previous rulers, are able to challenge him if they wish to do so.

Saera Targaryen (Hugh the Hammers Mother) was disowned and sent to be in the Sept as a nun because she was caught multiple times being promiscuous as a younger Targaryen Princess. She ran away when she was supposed to go be in the Sept. Ended up working in a pleasure house in Volantis and ended up owning one later in life. Hugh is the Grandson of Jaheris the Conciliator and now rides his dragon Vermithor. His father is some rich Lord that paid lots of money to sleep with a Targaryen princess. Vermithor (Male) is bigger than Silverwing (female) but not by a lot, they are similar in age but Vermithor is big for his size and feirce (the Bronze Fury). Silverwing is friendly and docile, likes to chill in the cave and make eggs. All three dragons really match their riders personality. The shot at the end with the 3 dragons was Mother(Silverwing), Father (Vermithor) and Daughter(Syrax) dragons yelling at Grandma (Vhagar)

those dragonseeds will be a greater problem in THE FUTURE based on the books thats a prime example of why noble will always have an advantage having a dragon which symbolizes POWER than the low-borns no offense. Nobles will have honor and loyalty while low born will be indulge in POWER and Money mostly when granted by an opportunity. WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY!

I feel like so many people don't get the point Jace was trying to make. Jace has been harassed by the greens and their supporters through his whole childhood because of his parentage. Having his own dragon, Vermax, was a reminder of his identity, that he actually is a legitimate Targaryen. But if any bastard could claim a dragon, what does that make him? He also has been saying through out this whole season how insecure he is about his legitimaty and how he wants to fight for it so he is seen worthy for the throne, so it's no surprise that he finally brought it up. What if those new riders just decide to switch up on them and want to have their own claim to the throne? What if Rhaenyra dies, Jace is her heir, will those men in her council and the rest of the realm that are loyal to Rhaenyra wanna fight for him? Those bastards have more Targaryen features than Jace and who is to say that the realm won't change their loyalty because of that. Let's not forget the fact that they now got dragons that are way larger than Jace's own, he would have no chance against them
