That consultant gave them 30k for an interest rate so low no bank would ever agree to it and they are not even thankful??
@dazediss66293 жыл бұрын
@Iam God No, not on a loan - you’re talking about banks paying you interest on savings - they pay far less than 25p a day. No bank on the planet will give you a loan at 25p a day - that’s 3,000,000 pence and paying 25 pence a day would mean it’s gonna take 120,000 days to recoup the original outgoing. It’s pretty much a certainty that the guy who lent them the money was very wealthy and was knobbing one of them. Any bank lending 30k is gonna want repayments even at the maximum length of 35-40 years of at least 150 quid. But most will want it over 10 years and charge around 400-500.

PUREPOTIONS SKINCARE LTD soon went into Administration followed by Liquidation. (They also previously had Pure Potions LLP - dissolved) The 2017 accounts showed a director gave a £50k Personal Guarantee to an existing loan. Why would you supply £26k (MSRP) of goods to Holland and Barrett for free? It is embarrassing that they agreed to it TWICE (they said they sold out and has to restock) and that they refuse to go to other better retailers. H&B really is last chance saloon. Yet they are giving it away happy with buzzwords such as "free fill". They would be better off relying on ebay, amazon and their own online shop, without any brand awareness or upgraded listings, just waiting for random people to stumble across and buy. Just as they wait for the odd prescription. When you are willing to take the hit just to be in a shop with minimal shelf space... they are brain dead. They had over 10 employees for christ sake. The only way I would have ever agreed to similar terms is if 1) it was featured on their TV advert or 2) it was part of a prominent window display. Nevermind though... new packaging, same product... same people... BALMONDS SKINCARE LTD Sold at H&B as "Balmonds Skin Salvation". Read more about it here... pressreleases.responsesource.com/news/97417/family-company-making-remarkable-natural-skincare-for-eczema-relaunches-as/ (TL;DR company rebranded from Purepotions to Balmonds - no mention of liquidation) A new sole director who is owned £530k by the company!!! It really annoys me when these people with relatively young businesses, start telling some of the most successful people in the country about business.

oh i think i've seen what's happened, there is a different company balmonds skincare selling the same product in holland and barrett. balmond is the entrepreneurs surname but the company director is a man. perhaps a new company started when the old one folded?

Many/most businesses are massively in debt. As long as they take in enough money to cover the repayments and the cost of running the business, the fact that they owe money is no different from a person having a mortgage. Every young couple that has just bought a house together is "massively in debt" but as long as they can pay the mortgage it's not a problem.

They looked like two nice ladies but as Peter said , there was something bothering about them. Something were not really adding up. One such thing They fired a consultant because they thought he was not doing enough , yet that consultant lent them 30000 pounds for virtually nothing . Who does that 🤷 Something didn't make sense, not sure if it's because 60 min show is compression into 12 minutes.

I felt sorry for the ladies. At 11:02, Deborah mentions 'comfortable'. Surely a trait of a good business person is to handle things outside their financial comfort zone as well?
@KumaBean3 жыл бұрын
Not quite, they wouldn't be successful business people if they went with investments that made them feel uncomfortable. We've all got that dodgy mate or cousin who has an idea but needs to borrow a few quid to make it happen, would you feel comfortable lending them tens of thousands of your hard earned cash? I wouldn't,.... 🍻

What am I missing. A business making decent turnover, into profit, owes money but at a cheap rate. A consultant being let go for not doing a job doesn't seem outrageous enough to turn off all dragons.

They were not making any money. Dragons mention this to new people on the show all the time... as you grow, your margins get squeezed. They are turning over a few hundred K but making pennies. Being that big at that scale making nothing means that the dragons are pretty limited in what they can do.
