Because it's an extra 2% divided over 5 current owners. It's a tiny price to pay over their original offer. And with the dragon's network adding value, it's a great deal. They may even have purposely offered 18% percent specifically because they wanted a counter offer at 20%

I heard a story that the seed was evaluated in early 1900's and then was neglected by industrial-agri-business for further promotion because it was a difficult oil to turn into margarine due to it's exceptionally high Vitamin E content, which prevents it from oxidizing and hydrogenating as easily. Thus they focused on Rapeseed instead.
