Warferer has lower stats, apparently. From what I've seen, their Vocation Action is basically switching your weapon- this means you can't use a shield to block like a fighter can, since I believe that's the fighters Vocation action. Something to keep in mind.

@@wandering_heart Chill bro. Warferer doesn't let you do everything- or even everything well. It let's you take up the skills and weapons of *three* vocations (and we don't even know how many their are total- though we've seen at least eight.). You won't get their vocation specific actions either, meaning you can't block as a fighter, focus as a mage, aim as an archer.... You get the idea. and it's baseline stats are weaker- which may or may not matter much depending on how they handle levels and stat growth, but I suppose we'll see. It's kind of like DnD bard which let's you do a bit of everything, but not as well as a specialist. And if this is anything like the previous game- you will have to pay skill points for all those skills. Meaning warferer is going to progress extremely slowly since they have three times as many skills and passives to buy to get their whole kit. If anything, it seems more like a newgame+ kind of vocation, since if it's like the first game, skills you have already learned are passed to other vocations that have the same skill. (Striders and archers share some bow and dagger skills, for instance, so you don't need to buy the same skills twice.) Guys trying to pick up warfarer from the start are gonna suffer.

This is true, but we get access to less skills at a time compared to the first game. Unless you're the Warrior anyway. Previously everyone but the Warrior had six skills, while the Warrior only had three. Now they all have four. Plus _I think_ maybe one big special move as well.

I always play support characters in rpgs. Mass Effect, the engineer was my favorite. In mmo, my favorite is the medic. In sword and sorcery games, the mage, all day. I may be in the minority but I think it's a fun way to play.

Yeah, he always had the kupesh on him. Plus, Antics got things like the dire arrow upgrade wrong for the Archer by speculating it could be a earth based arrow. Dragon's Dogma doesn't deal with elements like that. It uses 5 ark magicks in Fire, Lightning, Ice, Darkness, and Light.

For some reason, nearly everyone I’ve seen talk about vocations incorrectly states you had to grind basic vocations to unlock the advanced and hybrid vocations in the first game. Once you reach character level 10 and make it to Gran Soren or Bitterblack Isle, all advanced and hybrid vocations are available. You could start as mage and immediately switch to Assassin, Warrior, or Ranger if you really wanted to.

You're both wrong and right. Originally you did grind out base vocations to unlock advanced and hybrids back during the first launch on Xbox. When they released Dark Arisen they changed it so that you would no longer have to grind out basic vocations.

Did you play DD1? The sorcerer vocation was good with really high DPS but sadly with a huge lack of action. Most of the time you are just waiting to cast a spell. I hope they improve this to make it more enjoyable.

The trickster seems to be suffering quite a lot tho, as you can see, whenever the player makes enemies jump off the cliff, he gets no exp from the mobs death, that is something they may add later or patch if enough reports.

That wind based spell is called 'Maelstrom' of Sorcerer. mage cant do powerful destruction spells.

Mage spells in dd1 can be compared to final fantasy's red mage spells. As in mage have both support and offense type magic, but they cant learn grand destructive spells. Sorcerer in the other hand cant learn a lot of support magic but gain access to grand destructive spells

4:52 It looks to me like a torpor arrow. In the first game, there was a shot that fired an arrow like this that made the enemies extremely slow. It might be a different arrow or it could be that torpor stuns instead of slowing to be more realistic.

In DD:DA (I just started NG+ for the first time!) I started as Strider and then played around with some other classes hoping to get to Magick Archer. I really love that class so I'm excited to try it in DD2 again. I'm also super intrigued by Spearhand. I love magic classes, but Sorcerer, while powerful, was frustrating to play. High Gicel had such a long cast time, and almost undoubtedly a hellhound would grab and drag me away seconds before being able to finish the channel. I think Aggro needed to be fixed in that game, because the pawn's shield drum did squat sometimes. Anyways, Spearhand...the melee in DD is such a blast, and mixing it will magical dynamics would be sweet. It had cool animations too.

Based on the trickster being purple pink we are either getting 6 basic vocations to start with or the 4 we start with are basic with the purple and pink classes as unlocks for 6 basics that mix into all permutations with the other classes and will have their own advanced classes to. My guess is warfarer is an advanced colourless class unlocked as part of story

They all look really good. I'm impressed. The warfarer especially is a tactician's dream, but almost certainly requires extensive vocation, enemy, and map knowledge - not to mention a healthy dose of creativity and spontaneity - to really make the most of the wide skill set while overcoming the lower stats.

The Trickster hints at a monk & controller-oriented class with the two colors Strider got split into Archer & Thief…there’s no reason the other two classes couldn’t be split If you look at the Trickster gameplay footage, the astral projection ability looks like a meditating monk Which means we could get a monk / brawler class and a more support-focused caster class…seemingly offshoots of Fighter & Mage, respectively It’s very weird that Mystic Knight hasn’t been shown, which could now be a combo between Fighter + the offshoot Mage class now - given how popular the Mystic Knight was in DD/DDDA

The vocations in DD1 is not class locked. It simply requires 1k discipline for basic and advanced and 1.5k for hybrids.

honestly if it were me... you'd need to unlock warfarer skills by unlocking them in their actual vocation. same level etc. this would make them unlockable for the warfarer... would make them harder to level up considerably but at the same time give them ultimate combo potential.

see i think in DD2 they will just have a stat bonus that grows with level and changes based on vocation, plus the original system. so you could have a character with unique stat pool instead of having every character having identical stats if their the same level. this way they can just give warfarer a lower bonus, this way it will also prevent warfarer from being absolutely broken after reaching the level cap. What do you think?

So if you level certain stats with different vocations, does the gsme encourage us to switch vocations often? I'D imagine certain people would only want to stick to a certain class for the game?

I'm an absolute noob so please explain why would I choose anything other than the warfarer?

Warfarer has reduced stats, so is quite hard unless you rotate your skills correctly. It gets access to a lot of skill but never the ultimates of each vocation.

Okay they should just call this new "archer" class "legolas mode." Seriously, what a power fantasy. Holy crap. The agility and speed is insane and the style! Just screams badass smooth criminal XD

It's great to have 1 vocation in mind, but keep in mind that you may change your vocation easily. Especially since it appears that your stats will automatically reallocate themselves to your new vocation, not guaranteed but it appears to be the case. Fighter will be my jam for the majority of the game. But I'll definitely switch periodically to Sorcerer or Warrior at times as well before finally settling into the warfarer at endgame mixing all 3.

Yeah in dd1 I went archer rogue magic archer assassin. Idk if u can switch that many times in this one but I'm assuming so if it's Like dd1

Actually, when you go over the Archer at the Middle of it You say it looks like the evasion skill shoots off the current arrow But it looks more like really. The guy shot an Explosion arrow that for some reason was ice or water instead of A. Regular explosion Wow, it does look like the evasions still shoots out an arrow at the end of the evasion. It looks like it's just a base arrow. And the kick of the evasion detonated, the explosion already touched the enemy.
