literally my first golem fight. I couldn't figure out how to deal damage to it (neither do my pawns) so i kept on shooting magick arrows at the glowing part until it's almost morning and then I figured out i could just climb onto it and use my dagger to damage it. First medal broke, the sun rises, this theme starts playing. It was the most epic first encounter ever!

Its as if they [Creators of Dragon's Dogma] looked at Rpg elements of D&D, the monster hunting from monster hunter, the setting of Arthurian Mythology, the rampant difficulty of a souls game and decided to make one delicious ass soup out of all those elements! God this game is fantastic!

Depends on the boss really. Condemned gore cyclops. - about 30 minutes each (2 of them in the room). Hydra - 1 minute with my sorc pawn and fire spell

i agree. i personally think this game puts Skyrim to shame. literally my first reaction to Grigori on the beach was "damn i got bitch slapped by a dragon. cant have that happen in Skyrim" DD is a perfect example of what a medieval themed RPG should be. Arisen > Dragonborm

Dragon's Dogma is medieval, yes. But Skyrim is nordic (you know, vikings, Thor, Fafnir... Scandinavian folklore.).

I remember fighting the giant ogre in my first venture into the Everfall as a team of 2 women. Me a Mystic Knight, and Pawn a Strider. Long and intense battle, since it could instantly kill me in 1 of 5 ways.

They really managed to make the Ogres creepy in the game. The way they sit around silent at first, look about curiously, notice you at the corner of their eye, then start giggling like a overgrown schoolboy, and then start running towards you. Creepy and awesome at the same time.

Not to mention that the final boss in Dragon's Dogma was far superior to that of Skyrim. You could kill Alduin in five minutes, but the fight with Grigori felt like the epic struggle it should have been. Fighting a huge, yet mysterious dragon to get your heart back and save the world! Though that last part didn't go quite as planned...

The greatest thing about this, is that the song is so insanely hype and masterfully crafted, but you’ll eventually be so powerful that your enemy is even a threat. Kinda like the creature is hearing boss music for you lol

Just picked this up a few days ago. I’m level 30-ish. Big monster hunter fan. I was hanging around Gran Soren when I saw a massive shadow pass me, looked up and saw my first Griffin. I tried to pass under it, noticing it was attacking buffalo (nice detail). I was making my way until hype music kicked in and it swept for me. I latched onto it’s claw and was brought high into the air, slashing like a madman. It came crashing down thanks to my fire sword and this music kicked in. It’s super sumilar to the Daren Mohran theme from Monster Hunter (same composer and/or orchestra I imagine) so I WAS SUPER HYPED UP and smiled like an idiot while I had my favorite fight in the game yet. I want a sequel already.

Aside from these minor setbacks, the game really is a masterpiece. The story was incredible and engaging, with interesting plot twists. What I really loved is the fact that you usually have to go through the game a second time to truly understand the whole story. Not to mention that the vocation system was great. To be able to change your class type with ease is great for experimentation. And the music was great as well. even the unfitting J-pop intro theme got pretty catchy after awhile. xD

I'm not sure if you can find it before you beat the Dragon that took your heart, I know there's a specific quest, but I'm not sure what it is. However, after beating the Dragon, if you head back to the castle from the early point of the game where you invaded a goblin stronghold and had to fight 2 Cyclopses, there's a hole in the courtyard that leads to a cave filled with Goblins and stuff. At the end is where a Hydra is. Also in the "Game+" version, you can find them in Everfall if I'm right.
