Sweet Counter's Chris Mayo demonstrates her revolutionary learning resources for primary school students but rapidly loses the panel of Dragons. Chris Mayo seeks an investment of £100,000 in return for a 10% equity stake in Sweet Counter.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

The trouble with a lot of schoolteachers is that they're used to being surrounded by children, and get too used to the idea that they're the smartest person in the room and everyone else should just do whatever they say. It's not really in their nature to have to justify themselves to anyone.

I also notice how they develop a 'way of speaking' - it comes across as patronising to adults but authoritative to children - the problem is when you're pitching to adults but talking down to them like children!

Ahhh, I was a teacher, so I know that the danger for teachers is talking AT people instead of talking to or with them. This behaviour starts in the early days of teacher training when a nervous beginner tries to dominate a class by force of will: looking stern, giving firm instructions, bulldozing objections and following an inflexible lesson plan. Some teachers later become softly-spoken, patient, sympathetic, even funny but others stay in the robotic talk-but-not-listen mode which I saw here.

The trouble with teachers is that they 'are' patronising with children, they seem to forget that they were once children themselves. Children in their natural state want to make friends with everyone and when a teacher talks down to them by being patronising (even nasty at times), then children can feel this and you alienate them from you which then hinders their learning and causes other problems...

Every time a teacher is talking, they talk to the dragon's as if they are children in their class.

2 of my ex's were teachers they've done the same thing to me during convos before. They don't know how to turn it off when not working.

She must have been very upset when the cricut was available to buy, most teachers have them and use it to make resources.
