Well, it was a terrible pun, but at least it was snappy. Maybe you should put that pun away and don't go dragon it out again for a while.

Phenomenal artwork and presentation. The artwork reminds me of that from the game Monster Extermination but more polished. The game really looks like rollicking fun. It's been a long time since I've been excited for a game by Arcane Wonders.

I am not sure about the mechanic of "roll behind a shield, but you cannot reroll certain dice faces". Yes, sure, we all trust each other, but still - the designer could not achieve the same results using a different mechanic and remove "trust" as an issue? This is the second time I see this mechanic lately and every time I see it I cringe a bit.

Yeah, i feel this is lazy design, as there's no real way to enforce the rules. I'll give it a try and try to house rule around it

I feel like this game would play much more interestingly if instead of rolling the dice each player just set them behind their screens, reveal them simultaneously and then place it normally, it would be kind of a hidden bidding mechanic instead of pure randomness

There's the issue of the dragon rage dice face.
@marcosfernandesdesousajuni95765 жыл бұрын
@@vonwoolf9963 Yeah but isn't that the way to get dragon scales? Cause if it isn't then it should be, so that people would eventually want to take some damage to get scales.
@PandaOfElastic5 жыл бұрын
@@marcosfernandesdesousajuni9576 Based on the video, Dragon Rage does give dragonscales, but it gives them out randomly based on the Dragon Rage card that's flipped. It's not necessarily the person who put in the most and (just looking at the cards he flipped as examples) it seems like they really only give you a max of 1. Loot seems like the best way to get scales.

@@PandaOfElastic Interesting, it would need a small rework then =)

Usually I love the reprints of the DTE line. The original Dragon Rampage we absolutely love. And therefore I was excited to see the improvements. But instead it is adding a lot of extra "take that" elements which we won't love. And it also seemed to change the art from beautiful D&D style to a more fluffy Disney art. Glad we have the original to stick with.
@Skarpo895 жыл бұрын
What do you mean it took away the rerolls? It does have too much take that for me unluckily, the rest looks fantastic.
@bassplant5 жыл бұрын
Skarpo maybe I missed it but it looked like you rolled behind a screen (which also doesn’t make sense to me) and then place what you rolled. The original allows several rerolls. Another thing that is worse is the board. The original actually looks like a really cool dungeon and this one looks like lines with squares. Hard pass. I’ll stick with the original. It’s amazing!
@Skarpo895 жыл бұрын
@@bassplant Tom did mention that you have two rerolls, both for your original roll and when attacking the dragon.

Skarpo plus the original is NOT a “take that” game at all. This new one feels like munchkin to me, which we can’t stand.

I really liked Dragon Rampage. But it was so butt ugly, no one ever wanted to play it with me. They have improved nearly ever single problem from Dragon Rampage. Semi-Coop gone. Everyone gets dice so the game plays much quicker. Artwork and graphic design improved about as much as I've ever seen between editions of a game. Dice placement instead of fiddly tokens. Instead of heroes you are villains. This is an instant buy for me. Had no idea it was coming, so something is getting crossed off the buy list in my budget for it.
