Played this last week and completely agree this is an excellent game

Seems like maybe you forgot to cut out Tom walking the box away :) great video though and looks like a great game

Looks good but other than bluffing with the power of the workers...does this game bring anything new to the table? I get that it’s streamlined and looks good but it looks like light worker placement game and I’m not sure how it is different.

Worker placements getting much better for us who are Ameri-Thrash gamers. Hopefully the next worker placement game you review will be Reavers of Midgard or Margraves of Valeria.

Played my copy the other night. Much agreed, great game. Needs better cubes though.

Sure everyone has a soft spot for gnolls; but I can't wait to fight for the kobolds, in the name of Deekin Scalesinger!

The tiny board and cards makes me think of Ars Alchimia. I wonder if the tiny cards are comparable in size to that game or even Tokaido.

I'm hesitating between this and Champions of Midgard.... Any opinions?
@npckse85085 жыл бұрын
I would argue they both exist independent of one another, with one being worker placement and dice combat, vs straight up worker placement with some area control and bluffing

I'd skip em. I'd buy Tuscany or Energy Empire.

Champions with both expansions is epic and awesome.

I'm guessing it's not good for 2 players?

8:24 anytime someone asks why I sleeve my cards. Black cards do NOT hold up.

criticisms have been levelled on the solo mode but I bought the game just the same ! Will be playing game as soon as I finish UFS and see if the critics were right of not....all subjective concourse 😂😂 It is the critics who are supposed to objective!

So eventually how did this go for you? This game looks interesting but I find it strange that Tom didn’t include this in his top 10 workerplacement of all time

Did you ever try this solo? How was it?
@apollonia6656 Жыл бұрын
@ncreson, Yes, I have played it solo. It isn't bad but not anyway as good as Roll Player. The latter is quite addictive, but it isn't fair to criticize it that much as a solo because I didn't play it more than five times. Must say: the board is gorgeous and for multiplayer the stands are really great. So, if I had tried it solo before buying it I would probably not but it !

My only question....any reason to get this when I have Waterdeep and Skullport?
@Jaisyl775 жыл бұрын
Valoisian yes!
@Bodyknock5 жыл бұрын
It looks like this has almost nothing in common with Waterdeep other then very broadly having workers you place on the board. The theme is different, you don’t buy special spaces in this game like you do Waterdeep. In Waterdeep spaces are first come first serve while here they’re area control where the more you put on a space the better the chance you’ll get a first place reward. Corruption isn’t mechanically the same as Suspicion even though they’re both kind of like penalties for being too aggressive on the board. Really they’re completely different games that both happen to use a worker placement mechanic.

From the title, and since it’s related to Roll Player, I assumed the game would be about “Dice Jails”. I’m slightly disappointed that it isn’t, but it nonetheless looks like a great game.

I bet Nick from Board Game Brawl would choose Bugbear.

I don't know if I would consider this game a family game because of the prison theme...
