Well I remember a successful hedge fund manager who was saying that he always look for investment with a return of 30% (under 30 the money is better staying in the bank ) and I think it is easily reachable. A dozen of well situated spas can make 1 million a year net and 30% is 300000 a year for an initial investment of 150000 it is a 200% benefit each year .

@nathanly87613 жыл бұрын
Just wanted to say that these spas are really bad for the condition of the fish. In nature they feed on algae and bacterial film, so spa owners have to essentially starve them so that they're forced to eat whatever is in their tank. Due to that, the fish tend not to live very long (especially considering the sheer amount of pollutants introduced from someone's feet) as they waste away from not having their required nutrients. A number of states in the USA have banned the fish (Garra Rufa) pedicures, as have Mexico, Canada and many countries across Europe. This is due to high cross-infection rates and cruelty to the fish, as they are starved to make them more effective. In many cases, owners have used a similar but cheaper and more aggressive fish, (Chin-Chin) which have teeth that can draw blood, further raising the dangers of cross-infection.

I think what is missing to this program is the possibility of the people to invest if they find the idea interesting even if no dragons are interested . It could be done throughout small shares of 10 €£$. Personally I would like to have easy access by taking very small stakes (under 1000 £) into different businesses I feel they can do well . A sort of official ‘ Tontine ‘ the system used by the Chinese to help somebody to get some cash without any bank in order to open a business . Usually they ask the members of their communauty to invest and when the business starts making money the executive who runs the business buys the shares back with a profit for the investor .
@rudra76153 жыл бұрын
Strange isn't it There is a business here that made 400k the first year, and all they wanted was money to open more shops to make more money.. It's a no brainer to invest for 30% and you have a good return when they got 5-10 shops in 5-7 years.

Because, like Deborah said: it is animal cruelty. These fish are starved, making them eat human flesh. Once they are full, they would stop eating, making it so that it is unsustainable as they'd only be able to use a tank once every few days...as they'd need to starve them again. The tanks and fish would need constant maintenance, the water would need cleaning constantly, the health hazards from it are tremendous) +(imagine the person using it before you has athletes foot? This is forgetting the comment above about it being animal cruelty. The dragons can't be seen to be investing in something that is export/import of live animals, or anything that might be realised as cruel to living animals. It would decimate their other company stock worth and ruin their reputations.
@rudra76153 жыл бұрын
@@666m111 hold on a minute, animal cruelty? We live in an age where animals are experimented on by makeup companies and people are still buying it in record numbers, we cram, cage and stuff animals in filthy cages in factory farms for food production, we beat, stomp, kick, kill sheep for wool, we pluck bird feathers while still alive for meat production, 100,000 horses are drugged and sent to slaughter houses and you think investing in a business with small fishes in a tank, and starving them to clean our feet is bad? Fish don't even need to be fed everyday, one of the problems with high algae in aquariums is people overfeeding fish when they don't need to. Cleaning factor, do you know how regular kitchens and equipments are cleaned after a day's work? Every day, it is all process. From a business perspective a shop generated 400k, imagine having 5 stores and having processes in place. The dead fish can even be fed to larger fish as diet and not go to waste etc, the dirty water is really good to pour on plants too, the yield will be high, it's a recycling and sustainable model if you think about it and worth investing in my opinion

The problem was mainly that it could be copied easily. Also, in previous episodes Dragon's have shown that they do not have a big vision. I bet you they were strongly encouraged by their parents to go pursue a highly academic field, when what they wanted to do was be an entrepreneur and start a business and prosper and thrive.

Going to university doesn't just teach you information about a topic; it teaches you discipline, hard work, perseverance. These are all traits that are essential when starting a business.

These kind of studies from top universities teaches you discipline above all which is the fundamental for a healthy and potentially successful business. My two cents

If they put them in nail salons then the people in the nail salon would have to learn how to keep fish. They wouldn’t do that. They abs the right idea by not going into salons.

Nah she had The right idea. It’s a fad. Which means you grow as fast as possible to capture the money from the fad then dip out when it starts shrinking by cutting costs and keeping the excess profit. By the time the problems came about you’ve already made 90% of your money

The sad reality of the situation is that I, and any of you reading this, can go down to a local pet supplies store and buy similar fish for pennies and do this exact same thing at home. I can buy two dozen Minnows at PetCo or PetSmart for maybe $10 max, get a tank and a bubbler and be set up within an hour or less. That's why this business will ultimately fail; The barrier to entry is so low, a schmuck like me can step right over it. And for that reason, I'm out.
@samoak1233 жыл бұрын
the tank and bubbler will cost you hundreds and what are you going to do with the fish after your session? Return it to the pet store?

There is a burger joint and a pizza joint on every street corner in the US and in europe . Wonder how Mcdonalds managed to become a billion dollar company when any moe ron can grill a burger and there is no barriers to entry since the market is so saturated and now the business have to rely on marketing strategies ? I mean, Teo should go open a Mcdonalds and make billions too since it is so easy to enter and make money and anyone can do it.

Maybe I’m wrong about this but is it just me or do the UK Dragons seem to be much more conservative than their Canadian counterparts or the Sharks on Shark Tank USA. This business has an ROI based on net profit of about 3 years if we assume the 30% stake , I’ve seen the American sharks leap at deals that literally have an ROI that is ten times worse, the Canadians are more conservative than the Americans but even they would have leaped at a deal this. Usually it’s because they bet on growth and like sure you can argue that this business might not grow that much but even two or three more shops dramatically reduces the ROI, is there just a less risk based approach to VC in the UK?

In Margate there is a crab pool on the beach and when the tide goes out the crabs, shrimp and many kinds of fish get trapped in the pool. I was there one time and a Chinies guy was taking what looked like a tone of crabs and fish in giant buckets. Illegal fishing for his restaurant.
