@UC-XbUU3TXvmKUyTbudrlghg Like people already pointed out in the comments, there are batteries out there (that have existed for years now) that use water (like this one) as a source to make the actual material that holds the energy to react (the water is not the fuel itself, fuel is the thing that holds the potential energy, so this is not), once that material exhaust its energy no matter how much water you pour into it, you won't get any more energy, so you can practically exchange any other liquid that contains hydrogen and oxygen, and bingo, you can make you material to react, and like you also point out, these batteries are not only expensive, they are also inefficient, and no eco-friendly, no amount of "development" or years will change that chemical reaction, that's why people selling this as "the future" are selling a scam. This is equivalent of the machine that draws potable water out of thin air, the concept has been tried a thousand times, but you'll never make it work out, there is just so much water in the air, even in the most moist place ever, it will take you an eternity to make just a glass of water, so it will become the most expensive glass of water ever, so no matter how much "technology" you throw at that idea, you can't make something out of thin air, and people still claim is the future, and as many think they are discovering the wheel, while the idea, the concept, and the technology has been already fully developed years ago. So people buy into these scams cause at first glance they work, they do what they promise, but not exactly as they claim, and it is known that the idea is a dead end, no improvement can be done to them, that's why no major company actually uses them, not because oil companies have unknown conspiracies going on.

@tgooda46723 жыл бұрын
Afraid you’re both wrong. 3.8 million is the correct, pre-money valuation. The business is (supposedly) worth 3.8 million. With an investor’s cash, it would then be worth 4 million but they’re discussing what it’s worth pre-investment. The cash doesn’t go FROM the dragon TO the shareholder - it’s for newly issued shares.
@S0UNDWAVE3 жыл бұрын
@@tgooda4672 5/100 * x = 200,000 x = 20 * 200,000 4 million. Can you show me what calculation you used? Generally interested, thanks.
@tgooda46723 жыл бұрын
David they're talking about a situation where somebody will pay 200k to own 5% of the business including the 200k cash injection. This would mean the business with the 200k cash injection is worth 4 mil, and the business without the 200k (i.e. the business as it currently is today that's being brought to the table) is worth 4 mil - 200k = 3.8mil. So it's worth 3.8 mil before the investment ('pre money') and 4 mil after it. This is always referred to incorrectly in the den. The dragons will definitely know this, I can only assume it's done for the purposes of tv (and on some really early clips you do hear them talk about pre and post money).

It's just a battery, you add water to dampen the dry electrolyte. It's cool, and may last longer than a convenientianal batteries which dry out much quicker, but it works the same as recharables batteries which lose life span every time you refill them.

@matthewbell42733 жыл бұрын
I agree; I was looking for this comment as I don’t understand the £4m v £3.8m discrepancy. One could argue that the offered 5% direct ownership of the company would mean a 5% indirect ownership of the £200k received by the company via the investment, but even that argument would only result in a £10k difference in perspective, not a £200k difference in perspective.
@beeble20038 ай бұрын
@@matthewbell4273 If you invest £200k in it, your £200k will be 5% of the value. So the value _then_ is £4M. But that value includes the £200k that you just put into it, so the value before your investment must have been £3.8M.
