In case you can't find it, the gist of the conversation is this: Druid Tav: "You can't feed on people, only animals." Astarion: "Ugh, okay. But, what do you consider an animal? Goblins? Kobalds? Gnomes?" Druid Tav: "Don't feed on anything that we can talk to." Astarion: "You can literally talk to animals. What does that leave me with? Rocks and trees?! Though I wouldn't put it past a druid to converse with trees too. But fiiiiiine! I shall do my best to feed only on the dumbest of animals."

It wasn't scrapped; you can trigger it after Astarion tries to feed on you while you sleep. The next morning, he will make a confession, offer an apology, and present terms where you can choose to allow him to feed on you, only on enemies, or only on animals. If you are also a druid, this option is accessible

I had heard of BG3 but didn’t really give it much thought until last year. A KZbin short of the first quote popped up on my feed, and I thought “huh, this is actually kind of funny.” Several rabbit holes and a few weeks later, I decided to try the game. One year and over 100 hours later, best decision ever😂

a little sad that my faves didn't make it into the honorable mentions: when you're in the adamantine forge fighting the construct, he'll scream about it when the mephits show up because WHY NOT, and then if he pulls the lever to bring the hammer down on the thing, he's triumphant but fumbles over his words like "HAH, take that you-- you... THING."

My favorite one is the one where he calls the party a bunch of weirdos. Partly because the first time I had that conversation, he wasn't wearing clothes because I'd put his armor on someone else and didn't notice before starting the conversation. So him saying that while weaing nothing but his underwear, gloves, a cape and boots made this line ESPECIALLY funny for me.

Let me tell you, folks, Astarion from Baldur's Gate 3-tremendous character, really. Some people are saying he's one of the best characters in the game, and I have to agree. You know, he's a vampire, right? Big vampire, loves to drink blood. Some people say he's very, very charming-maybe too charming. But that's okay because we like charm, don’t we? He's got that charisma, a lot of people love him, and he’s got a great look, folks, a fantastic look. Now, he’s been through a lot, folks. Some would say he’s had a rough life, but he’s a survivor, a real fighter. And let me tell you, no one knows how to survive better than Astarion. He’s got these powers-amazing powers. Some people say they're a little bit scary, but they're strong, very strong. And you know, strength is what you need in a game like this, believe me. And you should see him in action, folks-absolutely incredible. When Astarion gets going, it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. He’s got a lot of fans, and I’m not surprised. They love him. They think he’s great, and frankly, so do I. Astarion is winning, folks, and he's winning big.

Everyone gets on Shadowheart’s case for being racist against githyanki, but are we just gonna ignore Astarion’s racism against gnomes? Shart at least had some reason given her bad encounters with the gith hunting her artifact and their general reputation. Astarion seems to have no real reason to single gnomes out.

So the building where the toll collector is. There's a hole in the floor and barrels/loot crates all around. Just open them until you found the one with cheese. It's not a cut scene line but he has a line which I cannot remember exactly. But I was so surprised that he comments on the cheese.

It has a symbol, as do two others because they are supposedly from distant countries/cities that the toll collector had collected (one even being the country/city of Thay, iirc, because it made me think of the Necromancy of Thay).

It's much easier on a second play through, you just leave him far away enough for dialogue options where you know he will disapprove. And luckily he doesn't always mind you being nice xD Or use an approval guide, have definitely done that every now and then 😅

There is also that line he can have when you've opened the barn to the bugbear and the ogress having sex. After killing them, or before i don't remember, he says something around the lines of "oh, this isn't the worst i've seen, gnomes can be- well... let's move on." The funniest thing was that I was playing a gnome bard at the time. I love to think that Astarion didn't finish that sentence because he started talking, looked at my GNOME bard and realised keeping on with that thought was a bad idea XD Same at Malforge when choosing to save the gnomes. DUDE. I AM A GNOME. A DEEP GNOME AT THAT. AND YOU'RE FUCKING ME, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ON ABOUT XDDDD
