Good game, dude! When I'm playing the game (on an online site), I generally reset the game until either the cross or the potion is the healing item. Even if a magical item that is not frequently found is the dexterity healer, it doesn't matter too much, as your dexterity seems to automatically go up after awhile (though, as I found out as you played, obtaining shields might cause that). Speaking of the shield, here's something fun to try next time you play - use the shield with the image of the handaxe displayed (when one of the foes that you defeat gives you one) and see what happens.

Yeah I'll reset if the staff is one of the magical items - oh yeah I read there was some easter egg regarding the shield but totally forgot what it is - I'll give it a go. :P

In all my years playing this game I never knew you could unlock a door with a handaxe.

I feel a little conflicted about it. Chop down the door of a church. Heal me!!! The people who kill the guard to get into town rather than just getting the ID are animials. :P

I would keep restarting until the cross was the strength booster then just keep raiding the churches.

So long as it's not the staff you are pretty much good to go with any of the magic items they all turn up pretty commonly.

Would have loved this game on the 2600. Never heard of the supercharger before or this game and I've been an Atari fan for 40 years. Shame on me I guess.

The supercharger was fantastic - this phaser patrol, mind master and amazing official frogger. Atari really should have made a pass through version of this to just add memory a couple more sprites and not terrible sound. I got if for cheap back in the day and had all of the tapes.

In retrospective Dragonstomper is so outdated it's not fun, literally I died so many times due to the poorly programmed enemy AI and the dragon doing 2 attacks on you for no reason This game sucks
