I had a 1960 Impala, same color exterior and interior. In 1962. Mine had a 348 Tri-Power engine with three on the tree - until my twin brother & I tore up the column shift linkage. Our dad said it was a miserable job to re-do shift column linkage. So we said we could get a floor shift conversion kit from Hurst, whose plant was only a few miles from where we lived. He thought that was a good plan. After that, we tore up a lot of transmission synchro drums…That non-synchro 1st gear trans was from about 1936.
